.....cut Trotter last year. Not only did he hurt us salary cap wise, he's now playing like the player we wanted him to be. We go out and sign Barrow to a huge deal that will kill us when we cut him as well. You must admit, we made a huge mistake on this one.

Trotter didnt want to be here. He said it himself in and article. And Joe probaly cut him because of his attitude which was, "I'm here for the money, I don't like losing"

And which of our LB's would you have cut in order to bring Trotter back in? He's an MLB, and I don't think that he could have functioned well outside of that role. In order for it to have been a mistake that we cut him, you'd have to argue that Trotter would have performed better than Pierce. I'd take Pierce any day of the week.

I heard barrow will likley retire after this year due to his age as well as his knee problems i read it on ESPN Insider, but also his cap number although not helpful in any way and i agree a total waste is not killing us if he is cut

well that was easy for you. if he had a crappy year, you would have said what a good move it was. listen, trotter is a moron and it was a mistake to initially sign him for a marvin lewis defense. why? cause you actuly have to be smart to play under a lewis or williams. trotter was a bum and he is a jerk for his attitude. if philly starts to lose he'll be whining up a storm. why do you think it wasnt right until training camp he signed? no one else wanted him and he begged reid to take him back!... don't second guess that move. the skins signed a guy in barrow who is a tackling machine and is rarely out of place. turns out he was hurt but look what it got the skins? peirce stepped up and showed he was a pro bowler. second guess the skins if they don't get a deal done on an extension, not on trotter.

Trotter is also a free agent this year, he signed a 1 year deal with Philly for the league minimum. I'm sure he'll be seeking big money in the off season, I don't think Philly will sign him for big money. I sure hope we don't either!!!!

Trooter is a moron and would have sucked for us this year. That was a smart move. Our Middle linebacker is way better anyway. Don't tell me you would rather have Trotter than Pierce. I wouldn't give you Prierce for Trotter no matter what anyone said.

He's said something recently about learning from his mistakes when it comes to free agency. Not sure I either believe him or care, but that's what he said.

I got the impression that Trotter is somewhat of a headcase and couldn't play well in washington, because he wasn't comfortable with the city, the fans, or his fellow teamates...

also, Barrows deal wasn't very big...

and of course, we realized how good Pierce was because of all this...

I'd say it worked out pretty well ;-)

No, we hurt ourselves once again with horrible player acquisitions. Thankfully that horrible trend has seem to stopped.

Last year with Spurior, the Redskins were a disorganized team with no structure no nothing, just a fun n gun offense and a disorganized defensive scheme. The team had no direction, just switching a bunch of qb’s and losing 11/16 games. Trotter couldn’t stand losing. He wanted money and to be on a better team. I’ll say the same thing for Arrington. Both of these players knew that there was no path to follow. It was irritating. Except, with Arrington he did what he was paid to do, unlike Trotter, who was paid a good amount but didn’t perform like he was playing for his team. This is why Gibbs said the heck with Trotter. If a player doesn’t enjoy playing for his team, then it’s best that he leave. We don't need Trotter. Trotter wasn’t a core Redskin, that’s why he’s on the Iggles.

Gibbs admitted it was a mistake before the Philly game (not sure I believe him) I believe JT would have been just as good in GW system.

How much dead money are we hauling around on JT?
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.

My original point exactly, look at that figure he's going to cost us this coming year, then add to that what Barrow is going to cost us , then add to that Pierce. I'm just asking should we have taken a chance (really not that big of a chance because he played great in the past) and just kept him, he's playing great and we could have saved a ton of money needed for other areas :?:

lets remember that the 06 season will be even worse

Anyway, the Skins have a young MLB who works very well in Gregg Williams system. I am glad the Skins are going to develop some talent with Pierce, not go out and buy some new talent.

Let me say something as clearly as possible, and just hope that you guys read it the way I mean to say it.
Jeremiah Trotter is a loser.
I'm reading all the news out of Philly these days about how he's a leader and how he gracefully accepted his role as a backup.
Guess what ? Nobody else wanted him. He was on waivers for quite some time before anything came of this new old job he picked up.
I don't believe a word out of his mouth. I was as happy as anyone when we got him, but to tell you the truth, when Bruce Smith started bitvhing about somebody talking on a cellular during meetings, I knew who at least one of them was: Jeremiah Trotter.
Goodbye, good luck. He never would've made it in a system as regimented and disciplined as our was this year. No "free-lancers" needed. Sure, he's in the Pro Bowl now. That, and a calling card from the gas station at the corner will help him reach out and touch someone.
Give me Antonio Pierce any day of the week over that bum.

i find it utterly amazing that any redskins fan could have a remotely positive opinion of trotter- therefore i'm thoroughly relieved to see that most of us realize what a pile of garbage he is.

let me set it straight to anyone who missed it last year--
jeremiah trotter was single-handedly responsible for losing us at least 4 or 5 games last year. who was out of position on the stephen davis run for 1st down that allowed the panthers to "score" (even though replay showed it clearly wasn't a TD) the "winning" "touchdown"? trotter. it would be one thing if that were an isolated occurence, but countless touchdowns were given up throughout the season because of trotter being out of position, overpursuing on a bootleg, abandoning coverage to rush the passer, etc etc etc. to top it off, he was slow.

in conclusion, jeremiah trotter sucks. he was the single most damaging factor on the team, on last year's season. we might have had a winning record if not for him.

Lies, lies, all of it lies. He may have humbled and begged Reid to give him another chance, but he didn't gracefully accept anything. He came in assuming he was going to start at MLB. He said in an interview a couple weeks ago that he was so ashamed at having to play special teams that he bleepin' cried when he stepped on the field for the season opener.

Trotter wanted to leave. He was like Bailey except we got no compensation
I miss you 21.

God I wish we had a second round pick.
