Most Improved

Post by Justice Hog »

It goes without saying that with Joe Gibbs in town, the Redskins will be a much improved team next year. Improved enough to get into the playoffs? Hmmmm. I guess we'll have to wait and see...but I surely think so!!

Now....what part of our team do you think will be MOST improved??!?

What, coaching isn't an option?

In that case, the running game - - because it can't be any worse.

I would like to say running game, because that (along with the offensive line) was the strength of "The Hogs" era teams. BUT, right now we have in place the weapons for a great passing attack. And we don't have Stephen Davis anymore (although I'm sure we'll upgrade a bit from what we have now). So... for 2004, I've been thinking that Gibbs will use a controlled passing game to keep the defense honest, and whatever running attack they have will come as the result of the threat of the pass. Basically setting up the running game with the passing game.

Of course, I could be completely wrong... especially if Bugel works his magic on the O-Line quickly.

On the other hand... Greg Williams is possibly the best DC in the league.....

And Gibbs always believed strongly in great special teams......

Can you add an "all of the above" choice to the poll? :)

No....because that would've been a "gimmie". Wanted to make it more interesting!

Gotta be the running game. Did we even HAVE one last season? No? Kinda what I thought. But you know that under St. Joe, we're gonna get one PDQ!

Kind of a loaded question...the area that will be most improved is the area that has the most room to improve the D-Line.

Without knowing who we might pick up in the off season, I would have to say that the Pass Offense will be the most improved. Now if we go out and get a stud DT or RB, then I might have to change my opinion, but as it stands I think that GIbb's and Bugels protective schemes will result in a better passing game, regardless of the personnel.

I would have to say run defense - if Williams brings the same aggressive style here that he has had in the past teams won't run well against it - period.

I remember that season with him as the Titans DC - talking about a swarm - there wasn't a person who could get across the OL without three guys hanging on them...
