Draft Section now open

Post by admin »

Just an announcement that the draft section is open and to make a few statements to avoid a large amount of repetitive questions.

1) I'd like to have waited until next week to open the section... after the 15th when the juniors have until to declare eligibility. But people are hungry for the draft stuff so we're kicking it off a little early.

2) But there are still a couple of things to say about doing so... not all of the juniors that have declared eligibility will be included in these initial player rankings. Scooter and Wingman will modify their rankings again when the declarations are known.

3) We have basic data for the players already in the database, but we will continue to add notes throughout January. With almost 300 players in the database, it's a fair amount of work getting the data in.

... it's also a testament to the dedication that Scooter and Wingman put into the draft section. They're the ones who scout the talent THROUGHOUT the entire year, grade the players, and make it all happen.

4) We will post an initial top 32 overall some time this week... the top 10 there is dated and was just used as a place holder... Wingman will have the top 10 to me today for posting.

5) We WILL be scheduling mock drafts... but please don't even ask until the season is done and the draft selection order is known. In fact, expect perhaps one before the beginning of March as we feel that mock drafts without the foresight of the first wave of free agency are virtually useless.

4) We will be scheduling periodic 'chats' in the draft forum where the members will be able to log in at a specified time and put questions to our draft experts.

5) We're really jacked about the draft section this year. We hope you enjoy it.
