Do you want Randy Moss to wear burgundy and gold?
That's the hot argument, wherever it came from, so lets see some numbers. I absolutely do not want this guy anywhere around or in our stadium unless it's the visitor's locker room. He's a talented player but we don't need his attitude.

There is no way the vikes are going to let Moss go.I do not want to see him in burgundy and gold ever!!!Anyone that is a true Redskin knows that guys like Moss are not for us.No pride at all,no respect for his team mates,no discipline at all.Randy does what he wants, no matter what.We don't need another, I'm bigger than the team guy and I can do what I want.I'm sorry but out there in the world somewhere, there is someone with as much talent as Moss, just waiting for us to find him.Hail to the redskins and hail to our pride, thats something Moss will never have.

first off. only way moss comes here is a trade. meaning, there is no signing bonus involved. that means the only cap hit we'd take is for his salary, which isn't too awful much. also means if he didn't fit, he could be dropped like a bad habit, with not one penny in dead cap money. so it would be a steal, from that perspective.
i'd love to see moss getting double covered on one side of the field, every play. that would leave coles 1 on 1, cooley 1 on 1, and only 7 in the box, making portis that much more dangerous. but the other half of me thinks that the big names haven't netted too much success, so why would this be different?
but still, weighing the good and the bad, i still say its a no brainer, if we get a shot at him, we gotta go for it. in the cap era, you just don't get chances to get your hands on talent like that without the added burden of a huge signing bonus, so if a trade were presented, i think it would be impossible to turn it down. but what the hell do i know?

I didn't answer the poll because I have mixed feelings on the topic. A direct answer to the question is "no." I do not want him to be a part of the Redskins organization. He is entirely too much of a selfish kid (although he has improved slightly) that wants everything to be about him. I honestly think his personality would clash greatly with Portis'.
As far as having him opposite Coles, that would be awesome!
Talk about making sure Portis has some room to run. Holy Cow! We would be close to the Vikings offense, sans Scrambling QB, but with a MUCH better RB. As long as things clicked in preseason, we would for sure be a threat to the entire league.
But when it comes right down to it, I would have to say no. I think the bad outwieghs the good. But as Hailskins said, if we have a good chance at him, it would be a good idea to take it.

You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.
No. His "me" attitude and lack of understanding of what it means to be a teammate outweighs his talent. He's not the type of player Gibbs would want on this team. He has been immature since his rookie season. I would only accept Moss if he didn't cause any problems and act like himself. But since he hasn't matured the last 7 years, it's merely impossible. So it's a no for me.

Nope...
not today, not tomorrow. He's got all the physical tools, but he's a headcase. The whole world's wrong, but not him. He's never proven he can sacrifice his personal goals for the team and that goes against everything Joe Gibbs stands for.
"Winning isn't the only thing... it's EVERYTHING"
Theres no way Minn. will let Moss go, but if he becomes available for trade take him. He's arguable the best WR in the NFL, and as of right now NO BODY RESPECTS OUR OFFENSE. Dallas going for it on fourth down several of times. This would at least give us more options Deep, Run, Slant to Coles. Instead of Slant Coles, Run Portis, Slant, Run, Run, Slant.

I voted no! But if the price were right I would agree that this is a very talented receiver.
But the price is never going to be "right" for somebody like this. He wont make our offense any better next year! Gibbs will. Dan Marino was a great QB but....
Give me a couple of Art Monk type receivers and you will win a lot of ball games.
We are going to have some superstars here but we will be also be made up of players who have a "team first" attitude or they will not be here long.
I really do not see Gibbs trying to find out if someone who can embarrass his own team is worth coaching!

Until recently, Snyder & Allen have made a lot of really bad decisions - nobody with any sense believes this franchise will get better under their guidance
Snyder's W/L record = 45% (80-96) - Snyder/Allen = 41% (59-84-1)

I wonder how would those that said "yes" feel if one given morning Mr Moss would say something like:
"Well, I do not know if coach Gibbs has what it takes to take this team to the SB..."
as he said against his current coach. Loyalty works both ways for most of us but not for him.
Nobody, absolutely nobody is above the TEAM. Joe will never ever go for him. This thread is a good thread to keep us busy in the offseason but nothing more than that.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!

Moss is the most talented WR in the NFL. He is not however the best WR in the league. That distinction is a toss up between TO and Harrison.
Moss would add a great dimension to our offense, but he would hurt our team more than he would help. On passing plays that might go to him, everything would be fine. If we were running or passing to the other side though, the defense would watch Moss and immediately know it wasn't coming his way. He's also a cancer on and off the field. Not to mention, how do you get your other 50 something players to play hard when Moss doesn't? How do you discipline other players when you don't discipline Randy Moss?
There's a reason why a team as talented as the Minnesota Vikings have blown up every season the last 4 or 5 years after starting on fire and his name is Randy Moss...
ain't gonna happen. fun to debate, but it ain't gonna happen...
