What the Redskins will do ( I think)

Post by John Manfreda »

Morton will be cut. They will try to trade him but because of his two dissapointing seasons and injury and no one will want him.
Gardner will be traded for a 4th round pick.
Pierce and Salva will be resigned before free agency.
Smoot will test the free agent market and than come back to the Redskins realizing that no one would match the Redskins current offer.
I think someone will sign Lemar Marshall for starters money considering he played well and Arrington will come back as the starter.
Barrow will be cut
Raymer and Friedman will be let go
Our first round pick will be a reciever, our third will be a center, the late picks will be 4th two of them and 5th will be o-line (2) and one a huge blocking TE. 6th and 7th wll be best player available.
We will sign a pass rushing DE, another center, a guard to compete with Dockery, and a huge bull dozing running back since Morton's spot has been cleared up.
This is what I think they will do, what about you all. YOU DON'T HAVE TO AGREE WITH THIS JUST STATE WHAT YOU ALL THINK THEY WILL DO. REMEBER THIS ISN'T WHAT YOU WOULD DO, IT IS WHAT YOU THINK THE REDSKINS WILL DO.

Not even gonna try to protect Morton... I gave up trying to protect him when people forgot what i said the next day.

Excellent post! I almost agree 100% on everything. I think we may go for a CB in the 3rd perhaps, but that is being pedantic. Once again, excellent post!

I agree with 99% of that, I would like to see them keep Barrow because we need some older veterans in the locker room. He has a least two more good years left in him and helps keep our depth deep at the LB spot.

Do you think they will keep Barrow?

Probably not because so many young guys stepped it up. It could be possible if they restructured his contract. He knows he's getting old and only has a couple years left with those knees of his, so he might settle for less money to get a chance at a SB ring. He's been to the big dance and brings a lot to the locker room & field if he can stay health.

I don't t6hink it's that likely that Barrow can overcome his injury. The 'Skins doctor said as much. His injury is bad and he is old. He didn't even really play in camp. If he retires how does that affect the salary cap? I think if he's around next year he will be a coach. Then again he is a very tough guy and he hope I can get back on the field.

Excellent post, John Manfreda.

I definitely agree that McCants will be gone.

The only thing I disagree with is cutting both
Raymer and Friedman. I think they will keep
one of them.

Yeah, you never want to start from scratch at center unless it's an injury or utter incompetence issue.

Sorta agree with you, but I see us keeping mccants cause of his money, I see smoot getting signed elsewhere because last year DB's were a rare commodity and especially now with the rule changes a good cb is tough to find. So I don't see us using our first rounder on a WR, I see it going to a cb, possibly rolle from miami or rogers from auburn.

I think Smoot will surely be gone. I hope that it is a sign and trade so we can get something (1st or 2nd round pick).

I would love to see him stay....but it doesn't look so good.

Morton will be cut...
Smoot will be back next year, who is going to pay higher than we are willing to negotiate with him. He can not cover anybody bigger then him- Keyshawn Johnson caught four out of four thrown to him with Smoot covering him. We will see him next year.

1. Chad Morton should be cut. He should have been cut last season, but he's definitely a goner.

2. Mike Barrow will be let go.

3. We're not going to be able to keep Lemar Marshall, so he'll probably be picked up by another team and excel.

4. The Skins will draft an O-linemen first.

5. Rod Gardner is outta here. I don't see the Skins drafting a receiver so I think it will be a receiver battle between Thrash, McCants, and Taylor Jacobs.

6. I don't know whether or not the Skins feel as though its more important to keep Smoot or Samuels. I think Smoot is integral and that is who they should work hard to keep, but one of them will be let go.

7. Antonio Pierce will be re-signed.

morton is cut...

marco rivera is brought in... and friedman is gone...

smoot is gone.... and we draft rolle....

WR in the first round doesn't make sense... WR is a funny position... historically they take 3 years to figure it all out... Gibbs doesn't have time for that....

David Patten is the WR we are going to bring in....
See right now I'm on lettuce... Pretty soon I'll be on fries... After that.. The grill... And after that... Comes Assistant. Manager.... and That's When the Big Bucks roll in!
