How do the redskins fix there problems and be a threat in 05

Want to hear some ideas on how to fix the skins and be a threat in 05?The teams salary cap is going to limit what they can purchase in the offseason.I,ve read several posts saying what players need to go and who should stay.I have to say that I'm going with our veteran coaches to obtain this goal.I dont think we need to spend the big bucks for over rated players like in the past.I think that a hard working schedule in the offseason, and "I mean one like the players have never seen before",will put them to a differnt level of play.How many times in the past has players left our team only to become superstars elsewhere, and why?I say they were not pushed hard, or coached well.A winning system can take some medium players and make them look good.I say let our coaches that are now mad for a terrible season,take there frustrations out on the players in the offseason.Not in a bad way but a good way, to fine tune them into a well organized machine and maybe some of the players that did not performe well in 04, can prove thereselves in 05.That is just my thinking.Who should go or who might me the break out player next year, that stunk in 04?

Taylor Jacobs will be the break out player on offense... you heard it here first... (this of course is nulled if we draft a WR with our 1rst round pick)

You could probably just browse through the gazillion threads and posts to get a good feel for what everybody is thinking.

i don't think we "fix" anything. correct dumb penalties, and mistakes, and stick with what has worked thus far, and build on that.

Rome wasn't even vacuumed in a day. This is going to be a 2-3 year project, getting to exactly where we want to be.

They had aquaducts. Why wouldn't they have vacuums. Even Fred and Wilma had a baby elephant vacuum.

This is true, without the unbelievable amount of offensive penalties, we could have done much better. Once we fix these kinds of things, im telling you we'll be unstoppable.

yea, but the flinstones were ahead of their time. i mean really, any ancient egyptian that was working on the pyramids would have given their first unborn child at a shot to use one of those dinosaur-cranes.

First get JJ back on the field sure up th o-line and I think everything else will fall into place. The player(s) that will shine next year..I think anyway you look at Portis' year it was dissapointing look for him to bounce back. Also Lavar should have a nice year with all the ballplayer around him.

OL priority #1 BUT we should get at least one extra pass rusher hopefully a great DE.

i think in order for us to be a threat in 05...

gibbs needs to incorporate more plays and formation that our suited for portis and ramsey.

i would like to see gibbs look at tapes of teams with good passing offenses and look at tapes of portis in denver.

Portis has not reach his potential, he regressed this year...
due to poor schemes that are not suited for him and the lack of passing threat.

they are ok IMO, but none of them is a first rate DE. Evans and especially Warner remind me of N. D. Kalu. Pretty good pass rush specialists, but not much more than that.

Wynn is decent vs the run and pass, but not the stud we need. I think if we got a great DE to go with the great DT we have with Griffin, we would really dominate on defense. Play the DE on the opposite side of Griffin. Both get double teamed, and we got 1 on 1 with the other tackle and a TE on the other DE. That would open huge holes for blitzing Linebackers up the middle and corners from the outside.

Think about it. We add a stud DE, get Lavar and Barrow back, and our DBs get healed up, with Greg coaching them up...We would have our best defense ever...by a longshot =)

I also think that was dead on. Add a couple players(lineman, mebbe a WR and another DB), get everyone healed up, get Gibbs more time to figure out his offense, and resign the right free agents and I think we are set. We are very close right now. Next season will bring very very good things our way

The offensive line is the most imprtant element on any football team.

It protects the Qb, opens up holes for running backs, it paces the Defense.

It controls the overall flow of the game.

It all starts up front. When we sustain drives our defense is fun to watch, due to fresh legs. Then it comes back to the offense again.

Its a vicious cycle.
