Cowboys: Parcells still looking for compliment to Jones

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

News
As the season winds down, Cowboys' head coach Bill Parcells has openly stated his desire to add another running back to his club. Parcells is looking for a runner to compliment rookie Julius Jones. "I think he can be a back that carries the ball quite a bit but I certainly hope to get someone to take some of the load away," the coach told the team's official web site. He then pointed to the Vikings, Packers, and Steelers as teams with a good mix and depth of running backs.

Fantasy owners who have seen Parcells' comments may be wondering if the coach is not happy with Jones. Don't worry, he's not. Parcells is just looking a capable complimentary runner, like Najeh Davenport is to Ahman Green or Chester Taylor is to Jamal Lewis. The Cowboys have a number of areas to address this offseason, and this will be one of them.

We need the same for Portis. A "short-yardage/goalline" type back.
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

For either, I'd suggest a serious look at Maurice Clarett. I've heard various reports of his lack of conditioning and how much damage the time off has done to his future, but as a bruising 2nd back, I think he'll be a reliable option.

Playing second fiddle to a "franchise" back (some may argue that term about Jones, but just agree for contents of this discussion) may be just what he needs to get his feet wet again.
This space reserved for BTP......If he ever wins it.

If our line would do something, Betts would be excellent for short yards.

I desire Ronnie Brown from Auburn :)

It must be in the original story, but it still grates on my ears:

Parcells is looking for a runner to compliment rookie Julius Jones.

That's "complements". A compliment is when yuo say something nice, like, "Julius", you are as good as Tony Dorsett". OK, maybe that's flattery.

A "complement" fits something missiong, as "Betts's power complements Portis's shifty speed".
