Alexander Angry At Being Benched

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Alexander Angry At Being Benched

Shaun Alexander finished 1 yard shy of tying for the NFL rushing championship yesterday, and the Seahawks' Pro Bowl running back was not happy about it."This is the first time I've ever been back-stabbed in my life," Alexander said in the Qwest Field locker room after the Seahawks won the NFC West title by outlasting the Atlanta Falcons 28-26. The focus of Alexander's frustration was what proved to be the game-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter. Faced with a second-and-goal from the Falcons' 1-yard line with 4 1/2 minutes to play, the call was for a sneak by quarterback Matt Hasselbeck. Not a handoff to Alexander. As a result, he finished with 80 rushing yards in the game and 1,696 for the season. The Jets' Curtis Martin, who began the day 72 yards behind Alexander, rushed for 153 in New York's overtime loss to the St. Louis Rams to finish with 1,697.

I doubt he's gonna be in Seattle after this year... Holmgren does nothing but continuously under use him, that on top of pissing him off... hello Miami....

I don't want to start any trouble but I'd love to have him here. He's the type of RB that I'd absolutely love to have on my team. He'd be a monster in this scheme.

Chris: Wouldn't that come at too high a price, though??? We're trying to free up some cap space to maximize the number of players we can sign. Miami needs him more.

I wasn't seriously thinking of bringing him here, it was just a thought, nothing more than that.

Sorry for the confusion.

Now if we could get him for 1-1 deal for Portis...I'd have to sit on a stump and think about it for a while :-k .

Nobody get me wrong, I like Portis but IMO he's more of a slasher, and I love smash mouth runners. Portis has the mentality but his body isn't made for it.

Just keep him out of our division!
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.

Who in the NFCE would take him? The Pokes have that Orange Julius kid, the Gints still have Tiki, and the Iggs have Westbrook (along with the little known McCoo and hopefully a healthy Tapeh).

OJ kid :)

ok...good point, guess he'll stay out of our division...although if I were the pukes or gnats or eagles, I consider picking him up

man boobs has mentioned many times having another back to share carries with OJ....and Tiki is getting old.....and Westbrook...although a good all around back, is no Alexander

Those are all arguably good reasons for those teams to pick him up, but on the other hand they're good reasons for him to stay away from those teams. After all, he is mad about a carry being taken away from him.

good point...but that one carry (or others) would have given him the rushing title...and no doubt there are incentives in his contract that translate to $$$ for that, don't ya think?

Could be, but he should be more worried about getting humiliated by the Rams again.
