Is Antonio Pierce captain material?

Post by JPFair »

Anyone who has been at a Redskins game this year, will have seen what Pierce is like before the snap. This is one seriously intelligent linebacker!! If we sign him long term, he could end up being a team Captain. This guy is one of the most intelligent players the Redskins have ever had, and an absolute gem for a coach to have. The future is bright for Antonio Pierce!
Sit back and watch the Redskins.

I agree. He seems to be concerned about the defense performing as a whole, as opposed to just making sure he is where he needs to be, he directs the entire defense on the plays. I hope we can resign him without a problem.

We HAVE to re-sign him. Wouldn't it be nice to develop our own great young player here in Washington for a change instead of trying to buy somebody else's?

This is what Williams has been saying about him all year. Gibbs points this out all the time, at MLB he has to set the D and being as intelligent as he is really help the whole D.
I think he would make a great team captain

He is the smartest player on the team, Coaches say this and you can tell

The players on the defense seem to have alot of respect for him

He could be our long term captain....Please Resign him
I miss you 21.

God I wish we had a second round pick.

Pierce is the next Jack Pardee...who coached the defense from on the field.

We definitely need to re-sign Pierce. Even more so than we need to re-sign Smoot.

Re-sign him, and make him captain...if Gibbs allows captains...I think he dissaproves. Pierce is the coach-on-the field, the LB who has to understand the Williams defense so well that he can make changes at the last second. He's the leader.

bump on resigning him...

we need him to lead our defense

although he would be a nice defensive team captain... i dont think it would be kool to show favoritism among your players.

overall... pierce needs to stay
