Trade Lavar

Post by SKINS#1 »

I would like to see the team trade Lavar for draft choices to help the offense but understand this will not happen because of cap money. Someone please explain! Thanks

I wouldn't trade lavar. Lavar is the Leader of this D next year unless he gets hurt again.

I want to see more of Lavar in William's defense, not enough playing time this season to make that decision

Lavar has more than $20 million in bonus money spread out over his contract, if we trade him it all comes due this year.
We already have $7 million plus in dead money for next year already

We can't trade LaVar until we see how lethal he is in Gregg Williams' blitz happy scheme.

Plus the salary cap ramifications mentioned above make it logistically impossible.

DO NOT TRADE LAVAR!!!!

not for anything except for Vick and Manning.....

If LaVar had played all the games all year you would not be saying that he is awesome, he should be a Pro-Bowler/ Hall of Famer
I miss you 21.

God I wish we had a second round pick.

i definitely understand the temptation... the D is so good already, and the offense needs help so badly. but i think we want to make sure we aren't hasty and make long-term decisions based on the short-term picture. if lavar can actually stay healthy for once, he can be the kind of incredible player you can build a whole defense around for years, like ray lewis is for baltimore.

as good as the defense was this year, imagine how nightmarish it will be for other offenses next year with lavar wreaking havoc on blitzes and covering the underneath routes. we'll have an absolute MONSTER in the short zone (lavar) and the deep zone (sean taylor).

i think when you find someone with the rare athletic talent of lavar arrington, you keep him around and build around him. the offense will get better. it may take another year or two even, but lavar will be around for 7-8 more years.

The 'Skins had the #2 D all year without Lavar BUT there is no way we can trade him. All year I was amazed at how good our D was but why we didn't cause more turnovers. Our D only scored once this year. Compare that to Pittsburg, Buffalo, Baltimore, ... If you put Lavar in there, this D becomes a big play D. He must become a little more disciplined but he has all the tools. Also, the only thing we really struggled at this year was when we played a QB who could run. We had trouble containing McNabb and Culpepper when they started scrambling. Lavar is so fast that he would be a great QB spy.
