Then Draft Antre Rolle CB Miami

Post by darkwing99 »

If he does not want the money we are offering him, then we should draft Antre Rolle who is a damn good cornerback. He is bigger, faster and plays the run awfully good.He shuts down any big receiver he has played against e.g. Larry Fitzgerald.

I'm reading that you may not need to have a top five pick to draft a CB anymore.
Let's wait and see where he falls.

It's way too early to assume Smoot will leave. The deal has hit a snag but there is three months left to get a deal done.

Quote me on this, Smoot will be in burgandy and Gold next year.

i wasn't all that impressed with rolle last night vs. florida.

i'm not too impressed with erasmus james in todays game either.

niether of these guys is stepping up in a big game. maybe we should indeed trade down for more picks.

You already said that, Darkwing. Do you really need to post your thoughts on the same thing in one thread and then make a whole new topic about it every time?

I think it is too early to speculate on what we should do. We need to see where we are picking. We need to see who is picking ahead of us and what their needs are. And we need to see which underlcassmen do come out.

I feel like we should trade down to get more picks because we definitely need to improve our overall depth. But right now we don't know who will be available at our pick and we don't know if we are going to get any good offers from teams looking to move up.

I'd rather have Mike Williams, reciever would still be a bigger need. Walt Harris is a capable starter.

So chill out.I love speculating about draft picks.

Oh yeah by the way Chris Samuels sucks dirty ________.

He is an average left tackle at best.

Let's all pray that we get Smoot back, but if we don't then let's draft Rolle

Even if we do get Smoot back why not Rolle???
I miss you 21.

God I wish we had a second round pick.

I like Rolle a lot but I think its more important for us to get better and deeper along our lines.

I say we draft a DL or OL in the 1st round.

We need to get back to the days of winning football games in the trenches. That's where every football game is won and that's where the Redskins need to start winning them.

I agree with cooley47. Even if we get smoot back, drafting rolle wouldn't be a bad idea. Springs is starting to get a little old. (turning 30 next year) He and smoot could mentor rolle and then when springs starts to lose his speed and quickness, then we'll downgrade him to 3rd on the depth chart and rolle will become the starter.

Hey Dirty Hog. Darell Green played into his 40's. And was still an effecttive nickle back. When we see Springs starting to get past his prime. We should draft another corner.

Ok, JAKE  let me tell ya something; another reason that i like to bring up a lot of scenarios is that our season so far has been sad and lame at best, and I like to talk about players that we could draft to help this team, because I know everyone believes that the best way to build a team is through the draft.I can talk about the attributes of different college guys on the field that I know we need e.g.David Baas, Mathias Kiwanuka, Antre Rolle and many others.
I will continue to make posts and always talk about who we can draft or get in the free agency for the 2005 season, till the season starts. So, if you don't like it too bad :D .

Oh yeah, I will go a very long way around here.

david pollack would be great...it seems like there isnt a good center in the draft so that takes us down to edwards or williams...if williams and edwards are not availiable.why not take pollack?

I was at that game they put Sean Taylor on him not Antrell Rolle. He is good but we have such a huge need at Reciever I would just promote Walt Harris.

If you wanna start gnashing your teeth into a moderator, you'll go through me first. Good luck with that.

Openly challenge a moderator and you'll find yourself with no other challenges to conquer except finding a way around your suspension.

You'll go a long way around here?

If you follow the rules... we might just LET you go far... make many more posts like the last one... and you may find your feet kicked out completely from under you.

My 2 cents
Sean Taylor was one of a kind, may he rest in peace.

look, being a moderator means being an intermediary between 2 disagreeing parties. If Jake had been tactful in the way he came to me , I probably would not have responded the way I did. This is a cool site, but if someone wants to act like God around here, then this site is not the place I want to be at.
BossHog, I don't try to disrespect anyone, but sure as hell won't take anyone disrespecting me. So as long as everyone's cool then it's all good. Jake, you're ok, but you got to be tactfull in dealing with people.

Thanks for your two cents.

Unfortunately your infinite wisdom breaks down in that the critical element of your post was the 'if you don't like it, too bad' part.

Whether you like it or not... what ANY moderator says is gold. If you think that you have been unjustly treated by one of the moderators, then you are free to private message me and give me your side of the story.

But unless I say differently... whatever a moderator tells you --> stands.

In fairness to you, jake didn't make a 'moderator's post' that you ignored and I see no fault in anything that transpired. But drawing a line in the sand like whether a moderator 'likes it or not' will not be tolerated in any instance where the moderator is acting as a moderator. So long as those things are understood, I don't foresee any problems.

That doesn't make me god. That just makes me the guy responsible for this mess and who has to volunteer the most amount of his time to give YOU a place to surf to.I am not in any way trying to 'disrespect' you, I am just some Schmo trying to run this website to the best of my ability. If you think that makes this place somewhere that you don't want to be, I thank-you for your input and bid you adieu.
