The Next Vick???

Post by Redskins4Life »

Okay, well I doubt this guy is the next Vick, but he sure seems to have his mobility. I'm talking about Adrian McPherson from the Arena Football League. Coming out of high school he was one of the top prep recruits and on his way to a prosperous career at Florida State. He then got linked to some gambling scenes and was kicked out of the school. He's spent the last three years trying to prove that hes not involved with that kind of stuff anymore and is eligible for the NFL draft. With amazing speed, a great arm, an AWESOME athlete, he could be the next Vick. Although Patrick Ramsey shows promise at times, I feel like hes never gonna fully develop into a great player because of his knack for turnovers. We could probably get McPherson as a 6th or 7th round pick, and if he doesn't pan out, we wouldnt have lost much in the process. More info on him....

I don't think the "next vick" is a compliment...

Vick is the most overrated player in the NFL... his completion percentage and quarterback numbers are close to Mark Brunells....

nuff said... that guy is a running back not a QB.....

Mcpherson wouldn't be too bad as a special teams player....

So your point is that Vick wins games with his legs rather than his arm? At least he's winning.

no the point is vick as an individual player is overrated. the Falcons are winning games b/c of their defense and they are the top rushing team in the league.. (i think that is b/c of vick and Alex Gibbs) remember that is the same system from denver that churns out 1,000 yard rushers...

Vick alone judged as QB sucks.....

Vick arguably is the most important player to his team in the NFL. Just look at the Falcons and how they play when he's hiurt and how they do when he's healthy. The guy is a stud and when he figures out the nuances of the west coast offense and improves his accuracy he'll be almost impossible to stop.

Vick wins. period. i'd take winning right now and some growing pains throughout later. vick is not overrated. hes still very young. look at the falcons record with him. it's pretty damn good.

I think that it would be a good thing if the Skins had a scrambling QB.

The way that our QB's have had to run for their lives, scrambling is a must in any QB we would bring in.

If vick doesn't learn to pass his career will be very short, he still doesn't have a full season under the belt, always injured, Peyton Manning is the best QB out there and those are the qualities to look for, arm strength, pocket presence, very intelligent. We can wait for the youngest manning to come out. Whats his name ? Booker ?

i've been watching vick since he was at VTech. anyone who has seen him play when he's "on" knows that there is simply nothing else like him. he is from mars. peyton manning is also from mars, but from a different part.

people who say that vick's "overrated" are basing that on a "traditional" definition of what a QB should be. that is just a stereotype, it doesn't matter. legs, arms, mind, butt, nose, it doesn't matter what body part someone uses as long as they win.

compared to manning, vick is a poor passer. but compared to vick, manning is a poor runner. who's to say that one is somehow more "legitimate" than the other if they both yield winning results?

Vick is a poor passer... what is a QB supposed to do...? Pass....

He is a player that changes the game with his feet... that is a given... but what happens when he looses a step...what will he fall back on? Do you really think 10 years from now he will be a pocket passer? I don't.... Do you think 10 years from now he will be able to run like he does now? I don't....

He is an overrated quarterback... good player yes... but overrated quarterback... I would take Roethlesberger right now over vick... if i were building a team....

Ducking behind a table:
Mark Brunell used to be a good runner too.

With the new 10-year contract MV signed worth $100M... I can promise you that Vick's career will not be 'short'.

It'll be at least 5-6 years before Atlanta could get rid of him even if they wanted to thanks to the almost $40M in bonus money he got.

I still think that the best comparison to Vick (by far) is Randall Cunningham... but i'm sure the Falcons are banking on MV winning a few more important games than RC did.

vick is just flat out sick. besides 4.3 speed a the qb position, the guy can flick his wrist and hurl the ball 60 yds accuratley. the reasons he hasn't had a good passer rating and such is the same reasons as our teams woes... atl's o-line is awful, he doesn't have anyone to throw the ball to, first year in the west coast offense, etc. i mean really, peerless price? ROTFALMAO that was truly a bust of a signing.

call him overrated or whatever, but i would love to have him behind center in B&G, though it'll never happen. the guy single handedly turns atl into a winner, and thats what matters, not stats, the W and L column. he should be the league MVP because he truly is the heart and soul of that team. although, you can't really argue that manning deserves that honor again.

Its funny but if you take all these posts and show them to somebody ten years ago they'd swear you were talking about steve young. He panned out alright, so will vick.

Plus, steve was great but he couldn't take over games. Vick does. Very few players can carry a whole team on their shoulders and win games. I saw it a little this year in Julius Jones for dallas for a few games. Stephen Davis always did it for us and then did it for a year with carolina. Peyton does it for indy. And vick does it for atlanta. When he's on he's unstopable. That's why Atlanta was probably the only team out there that coulda beaten the Eagles pre-T.O. injury

He takes over games, but as a runningback. 7 yards per attempt and nearly as many picks as touchdowns does not make someone a great quarterback.

About what, a QB that runs for more yards than he passes for? Yes, watch me tremble in fear.

I guess it does, except for the whole thing about McNabb having ten times as many passing yards as rushing yards last year and 17 times as many passing yards as rushing yards this year. It's a perfect description.

I love Eagles fans.... I gotta have my fun somewhere right, our season is over....but look I got you worked up to the point where you are looking up stats haha....

Why dont you just admit Vick is a player and why dont you just admit that losing ANOTHER NFC Championship game at home scares the hell out of you....

Yes, I'm oh so very worked up over this. I'm not bored out of my mind, going through 5 or 6 message boards just to pass the time. I'm just angry that you think Vick is a good QB. You got me.
