Dr. Z's take on Sunday's debacle

Talk about the AFC, NFC, the NFL Draft, College Football... anything football that has no Washington Football Team relevance.

Dr. Z's take on Sunday's debacle

Post by Texas Hog »

For once I agree with this guy...

"The worst thing that could happen to you, Cowboys fans, occurred at the end of the Skins game, when Vinny Testaverde, 41, led the team on its winning drive. I really think this planted the seeds of an idea that it might be a good idea to bring him back next year."

Everyone always says there's always something positive to take out of a loss. This would be one of them, for sure. :)
God bless our troops and Joe Gibbs.
We'll miss you, Joe.

I can't see manboobs starting a rookie. Maybe they'll sign Warner to compete with Vinny. That would have concerned me last offseason, but not this one.

That's a bit obscure. Can you explain what you mean?

They're good books. Forget about Harry Potter and the Bundle of Cliches, Bunnicula is some good readin'.

 Good reading

I meant that people said last year would be a down year for that team. They won 10 games and made the playoffs...with QUINCY F'N CARTER.

If not for injuries and inexperience, they'd have gone again this season in a mediocre NFC.

Parcells is not leaving, no matter how much you wish. (Unless he has a heart attack, but I think we can squeeze a couple more seasons outta him  )

The team will only be better. Last year he saved his money (Except for Wiley, which was a waste) because he wasn't sure exactly what it was the team needed.

NOW, with 20+ Million in cap space, he knows what he needs to get to improve the team. Rest assured he will. He's not trying to turn Drew Henson into a superstar(yet  ) His plan is to surround him (or Romo) with a good enough supporting cast (a la Pittsburgh., look at Roethlisberger, there's no way anyone saw that coming, but it's due to the guys around him more than his talent. Rookie QB's generally struggle) that he doesn't have to do it all alone. That is why Parcells is looking for a bruiser back to put next to Jones. The more talent we have on both sides of the ball, the better the QB looks.

You guys in Washington should try building a team sometime, it's fun, and trust me, will be rewarding.

Sorry sirs, I missed the ever wonderful replies

Parcells said from the day the offseason started last year that the team might take a step or two back this season. We cut our starting QB, lost our best RB for half the season, lost our fastest WR after Week 6, lost our Grunt TE in Dan Campbell, the right side of our Oline Degenerated.

Lost the unquestioned leader of our defense, and it was Week 15 before anyone finally stepped up and assumed that role (Greg Ellis), and our major FA signing (We didn't go Snyder last year  )was Marcellus Wiley, who will be cut.

I hardly count a one game improvement on your part as something spectacular to be excited about. Fact is we still, for all our shortcomings, beat you twice.

ONE MORE TIME:

We were better than you LAST year.

We were better than you THIS year.

We'll be better than you NEXT year.

Thank you and goodnight.

Sure he did. He has to say that. It's his character to do so.
Can you picture Bill Parcells motivating his team by saying something like, "Well, I think we've improved our team. I know that I took somebody else's roster to the playoffs last year, but this year we have my guys. We're gonna take it to another level. Wait and see."

PT42, you can spend that entire 20 mil in cap space on FA, but it won't work. We've tried it several times.

Also, with no quality qb on the Dallas roster, it will be another long season in Pieville.
How many more sleeps until next season?

Well fortunately we don't sell the farm and two draft picks to aquire some washed up QB who our coach is in love with (We only paid 1 mil for ours  )

We also don't need to give up anything to get a running back who averages more than 4 yards a carry. We've got one of those.

Again, half the offense was on IR.

We'll sign guys we NEED, not guys that our owner likes a lot because they were good back before he bought the team

We WON'T overpay.

We'll still beat you twice. :P

So even if it IS a long season next year, it'll be all the longer for you guys.

Good luck with that.

You guys did so much better than us, and yet we improved our record and Dallas did more than just take a step back.

You talk about building a team....well the Redskins did that this year, Dallas however, destroyed a team.

You are not better than the Redskins. Sure, you beat us twice, but both games were neck and nck. If you were better than us, it would have been a blow out. We both sucked, your team won.

Clearly the Cowboys aren't very good if a small child could just rip right through their defense and leave their players strewn all around the field.

You see, Roy Williams is such a nice guy (Anti-Taylor :P ) that he just fell down for JansenfanJr so that the kid could have some fun. Atta boy, Roy!

Too bad he'd never do that for Portis and the bunch
