59:30 of Defense

Post by Gibbs4Life »

What good does it do to have the best defense or #2 d in the league if they can't stop that play? What good does it do to root for an organization that seemingly is only interested in revenue building instead of putting out a super bowl caliber team? i.e. I heard theismann say last year the Redskins were the nfl's most profitable franchise...which I didnt think much of at first but on second thought I'm thinking well if Snyder is making more money than the Pats and the Eagles then maybe all the "I (snyder)grew up loving this team and all I want is to return it to glory" talk is a bunch of bullsh meant to get me to buy a hat and a season pass. I'm sick that we suck so bad, the worst part is I look back on all the time I spend caring about this team and I think...what I love about sports is winning not losing, but this affinity I have for this team cant possibly be tied to wins and losses because we only lose. And yet it still hurts as much now as when I was a young kid, I read the washingtonpost everyday because of the skins and have ever since we made the fist offseason acquisition that I got all pumped about (Stubby and Big daddy) well those moves tanked as did our defense w/30sec left 2day.....I don't get it...ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS KEEP YOUR MAN IN FRONT OF YOU! What the F was Springs jamming and letting crayton go for? no red shirts should have let any white shirts behind them ITS THAT F***ing simple! AHHH I have suffered many a heartbreaking loss as a Skins fan especially to the HATED cowboys, from Aikman to Wright to Carter, Vinny etc...they all kick our a$$.WHY? Still we the fans stay loyal & we start sites like hogs.net and talk daily about our beloved skins and why? So a bunch of what we saw today can happen over and over and over again to us? I'm sick and tired of losing to Dallas and I cant believe we're looking at another offseason of high expectations and ultimate dissapointment

Tonight was a travesty, I hope Gibbs isnt too old to fix whats been soo wrong for soo soo long.

i'm still in a state of shock.Everywhere on the net people are dazed and confused by this redskin loss in particular. This has to be the most painful loss yet.

yeah. i think this loss made us feel that we were wrong to think that we were finally turning into a real football team. it made us think, there is no hope for next year either-- we are the same old redskins that FIND A WAY TO LOSE and we'll never, ever change, even with the coaching deity Gibbs back with us.

I can't wait to see how this team handles this loss. I'm gonna be watching these guys on Sunday. If they give it up (Get blown out) then we know we have a serious problem.

One bad defensive play.

One last defensive series when, I thought (ah, the wisdonm of watching as an amateur and giving advice to Wulliams!) they have have continued to blitz.

It seemed to me that Vinny couldn't handle pressure. Give him time, and it's all different, though.

*

A crushing defest for a not-yet-formed team.

*

So...onto the Vikings.

I was ticked at the "D" when it happened also but they played a near perfect game and held the other team to 13 points. If anybody is at fault it's the stinking offense.

TWICE INSDIDE THE 10 WITHOUT SCORING.
TWICE HAD THE BALL IN THE FINAL MINUTES AND COULDN'T GET ONE STINKING FIRST DOWN. SCORED ONLY 10 LOUSEY POINTS AGAINST THE PATHETIC DALLAS COWBOYS.

OUR OFFENSE IS CRAP. THEY'VE LOST EVERY GAME THIS YEAR. EVERY ONE!

If it's that simple, maybe you should be our CB next year????

Geez, I just realized our defense is competing for the number one spot. It seems unlikely our defense would be number one, because our offense has had some issues this year.

Gosh, I can't wait to see this defense when our offense starts doing its job.

Yeah I agree...but a great defense is difficult to carry over the offseason. I believe Williams can get it done though, he has all season.

To add to ANT's comment:

If Shawn Springs is dog food because of the last play, then give back his interception in the endzone.

He's the same Shawn Springs, even if he looks back and loses a step on the receiver on one play.

Thank you, the man saved another touchdown by catching it himself. He did his job, and he is human just like all of us and made a mistake. I know it was the worst time possible, but he made a mistake. You cant stay on one single moment, I HATE the Cowboys and especially the "fans" who talk trash about the Redskins but dont know anything about "their' Cowboys. Shawn Springs should stay as a Redskin, he gets the job done, thats why he has 5 sacks and 5 int, he does his job, but he messed up. Leave it alone.

And hopefully when Springs loses a step he'll move to SS! That's when the CB we "should" draft this year will be ready & able to step in and be a solid player!

first off rolle is the next great cb, if we get a chance to draft him we should regardless of need, but anyways onto the subject of... losing.

Sure our offense sucks but its gibbs' style to play those close games. The only difference is the old redskins would have not had to get that one first down in the last two minutes. The old skins' team would have kept running the ball when there were 5 minutes left on the clock. The old skins would have run and battered and pounded the ball down dallas' throat and taken each second off the clock.

The dirtbags aren't even close to the hogs and the new skins have a long way to go before they become anything like the old skins

I agree with CcHhDd, Gibbs wants soo badly to have a "John Riggins" type back that he can simply bludget the oppossing D with. Being one day removed from the game eases the pain but does nothing for the state of shock. Hopefully the Gibbs "true redskins" will be put together in the offseason and have a furious 2005-2006 season.

No kidding. I know I've said this before along with a lot of others, but we really need to BEG Grimm to come here. Pay him as much as possible to get him. Looks like Big Ben usually has plenty of time to hit the open receivers as well as the old broken down Bus able to have a BUNCH of good running this year.

Let's start there and GET IT DONE!!!!!
You'll always be remembered Sean. R.I.P.

I was not bashing Springs as a player, simply the scheme that had him letting Crayton run free behind him. Taylor can't guard everybody. What a dissapointing Defensive play call that was.
