round 1 : Mike Williams (USC) WR
We have to get mike williams.A playmaker on the offensive side of the ball.More like a game changer,good receiver,soft hands,runs good routes and 6'5 230lbs. With the relative lack of depth at quality WR's in this years draft and our underachieving WR corp(except maybe coles) , having a damn good player will provide depth and another offensive option for Patrick Ramsey.(A young TO in the making as well).

round 2 : Justin Tuck (ND) DE
At 6'5 260lbs , he should provide adequate pass rush for our defense ; hopefully this helps cut down a tiny
bit on our blitzing and prevent those long bombs we always seem to give up. justin tuck should be a solid pick.

Note :If Erasmus James(6'3 260lbs),Mathias Kiwanuka(6'7 260lbs, or Matt Roth(6'4 270lbs, a DE for Iowa, a real hustle player , classic overachiever who we need) are available we should take one of them.

Round 2 (optional): David Baas (MICHIGAN) Guard
Now everyone knows we are pretty desperate on our O-line for a few good men especially at center.Now it's true that Baas is a guard ,however he plays a lot at center for michigan and at 6'5 320lbs has good size and feet. (Adam Terry OT from syracuse would not be a bad pick here too.

now 0ur remaining needs in PARTICULAR ORDER:

Round 3 : Cornerback. Believe it or not we need depth at that position. Hopefully , Corey Webster (LSU) 6'0 195lbs

Round 4 : Best player available at any position

Round 5 : Manuel White Jr. (UCLA) Fullback.
He is the best available fullback.(No.1 actually)

Round 6 : Mike Nugent (OSU) Kicker.
Either we draft a kicker or we sign one as a free agent.I say we draft.NUGENT IS LIKE A YOUNG DAVID AKERS IN THE MAKING. THE LEAST HE CAN DO IS KICK ON KICK OFFs.

Round 7 : Linebacker. best available athlete for special teams.we need some athletes and smart players on our special teams(wink,wink Mike Sellars)

Overall a draft in this nature will help out the team overall by providing balace and depth, while also infusing new blood in the locker room.
after this whatever we do in the free agency doesn't really faze me .I personally believe that you build a championship caliber team through the draft and SOLID FREE AGENCY PICKUPS.(check the Eagles)
Hopefully our scous are good at evaluating outstanding college players.

So what do you guys think of my draft analysis?
The Redskins will destroy the Eagles next year.

dude we dont even have a second round pick. and we dont need mike williams, he is the same type of player as Rod Gardner. If Rod cant get too much going, how are we going to get Mike Williams to do anything with little screen passes. I live in Southern California and have been to some USC games. Mike Williams is more of a big play reciever, and using hints from this year, we dont use BIG plays. i say we get a Guard or Center (Vince Carter, Elton Brown, Ben Wilkerson...) or maybe even a Defender to go join the best D in the league.

I say we go after a stud DT, that would take the need of a safety coming in the box.

If Detriot does not sign Shaun Rogers that would not be a bad pick up. :-k

You cant even double team him he is to powerful. He teamed with CG would put us over the top.

but none of the guys you mentioned are worth a first round pick and We do need help at wide reciver, a playmaker, a defensive end and a center.

I thought Kyle Eckel was the number one fullback in the nation. Sure his numbers are a little stilted because of the option offense he plays in at navy and yea he does have a service agreement. But, whenever thats up or whatever happens with that he will probably end up being the first FB taken.

But that is just the consensus I have gotten this year, maybe not.

if kyle eckel can be drafted out of the army then that is who i would get.maybe third round.he hasnt lost a yard in tow seasons that i know of:thats about 600 carries and runs a 4.5 40.looks like alstott.i would like to see mikw williams too in the first.what about elton brown from virginia in the first.hes a beast on the line.just a thought.

I believe we need a stud DT!!!! We cannnot become complacent with our defense. Our D is lacking one CRUCIAL aspect, and that is an ABUNFANCE of turnovers. I believe we are lacking them due to a lack of pressure. We DO NOT generate consistent pressure without blitzing. We need a DT who can free up our DE's! An average DE can cause trouble if he's left one on one. It will make our blitzes more effective, I remeber Sean being picked up last night almost everytime he blitzed.

After a DT, I think we need some help on the O-line.

Everything else is fine enough as it is.

WR is a not a needed area to be addressed.

I say get a D-Lineman first, an O-lineman second, and a big fullback/halfback next. Our inability to force it through on goal line, 3rd and 2, or to even attempt 4th and inches (how much did THAT suck) is really hurting. Betts is the closest we have to a power back. Either we need to line up an HB or TE at halfback on those plays or we need a big bruiser that can muscle 1 or 2 yards by himself.

I understand that our woes in short yardage situations have been attributed to a poor offensive-line push, but many times even that won't get it done. We need a big man in the backfield who can push the pile and force another yard. Someone a while ago suggested telling Cartwright to put his weight back on. Maybe that's not a bad idea. Wasn't he something like 5'7'' 240? That's a wrecking ball for crying out loud. My two cents from a pro football semi-newbie.

I guess, one good thing to come out of this is that we are greatly improving our position in next year's draft?

At the begining of the game I am thinking "just beat the pukes!" Nothing else really matters this year!

With one to go we are going to be in a decent position next year, win or lose!

thie was the current draft order going into this weekend....

1 San Francisco 49ers
2 Miami Dolphins
3 Cleveland Browns
4 Tennessee Titans
5 Arizona Cardinals
6 Chicago Bears
7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
8 Washington Redskins

Every team ahead of us lost or their record is worst than ours even with a win.

In other word after losing to that team in Texas the draft order doesn't change

Thanks 1niksder! I was not paying attention but I appreciate the update on the current draft order.

You're telling me we can't win for losing! seems like the story of our season.

I hope this doesn't sound wishful, but, I really do think we are an improved team and if we can improve next year as much as we did in the last year we are looking at a playoff team next year. I know we are low on the list with our wins and losses but we just seem to be playing with more enthusiasm and heart than we have been in years past.

The defense and the offense have been huge surprises in opposite directions and I am very sure that we will see a big effort to upgrade our offense and special teams next year. Hopefully we can keep both Gregs on defense.
