LaVar wouldn't be to great of a everydown DE. First of all, he once said he doesn't like playing DE because the tackles are huge. He would get blown away on runs.
Just because he has the'body' to play DE doesn't mean he would be effective. He would need to learn how to play DE...keep him at OLB.
We need to sign or draft a physical speed rusher. Or we could play a 3-4 defense. Griffen at end, big Joe or Haley at nose.

NO NO NO, leave lavar at linebacker at all costs. JPM had it right, lavar is a ballhawk, he's best running around going after whoever has the ball. And we still haven't seen him play with sean taylor yet. Watching taylor all year reminded me of lavar, because if you looked at every tackle, taylor was always making it or around it, much like lavar does. Another thing about lavar is that he's a lot like ray lewis in the fact that he makes his best plays on the run. Teams in the league have been running at ray lewis all season because they've figured out he's less dangerous when he's planted and more dangerous when he's running. If we put lavar at de then we'll be limiting his best asset, making tackles on the run.
Another thing i'm tired of is everyone underestimating our defensive line. Don't mess with it people, they're doing great. Griffin is a beast this year, not only stopping the run but he's also gotten a lot of pressure on the qb. Salvea is just a monster in the middle and is a wonderful run stopper. Coming into the season everyone was talking about how we didn't have any defensive ends to rush the passer but I think all the fans were missing the point. In williams system, he gets his sacks from the back seven. The front four needs to be a great run stopping group. That way you leave the team in passing situations in which you can blitz them freely. So I think once daniels comes back and we establish another de on the other side to compliment him this group will be one of the strongest units we have. So far williams has the number one defense against the run and that all starts up front so I don't see how you guys think we should mess with it.

No, I disagree. He's shown in the past that he's not effective at DE. He's effective when he can use his incredible speed to get to the QB. At DE he's getting held up and can't penetrate on a consistent basis.
What in the **** are you talking about???
When he was used as a DE he had 11 sacks and at one point in that particular season led everyone in sacks, swollen hands and all.
...four of those sacks came from the OLB spot.
You guys are funny, Yall just be typing without researching.

Man calm that mess down, is all of that really neccessary to prove your point?
If you would have read all of my posts you would have seen that I was mostly replying to the notion of Lavar playing DE full time. He did fine lining up at times when Marvin was here, but to convert him full-time wouldn't be good.
Thanks.
The road to the number 1 pick gaining speed!

We need a highly mobile LB to keep great running QBs such as McNabb and Vick in the pocket. Do not commit Lavar to the line... All they would have to do is -RUN- towards him to counter his rush.
Then again, we are talking as if -WE- were the coaches. I am glad we are not.

Daniel Snyder has defined incompetence, failure and greed to true Washington Redskins fans for over a decade and a half. Stay away from football operations !!!
