Surest sign the Skins will make the playoffs this year
Well, I was hoping this would happen. Today Michael Wilbon said in an online chat that there is no way the Skins would make the playoffs. That's fantastic! You see everytime Wilbon makes one of these bold pronouncements, the opposite always comes true.
1) Ty Willingham: He said Notre Dame would never, ever even consider hiring a black coach. The next week, they hire Willingham.
2) This offseason, he said there's no way Joe Gibbs is ever coming back. Not going to happen. Happens the next week.
3) He said Joe Gibbs is not going to bench Brunell, and the next week Gibbs does.
Fire up the bandwagon, boys!

because of our defense, we can play with any team in the NFL right now. If we do get in the playoffs, it's because we won enough games to do it. Just because the AFC is much stronger than the AFC this season doesn't mean we don't deserve to go to the playoffs. If we were to go to the playoffs, I bet we go to the championship game =)

So? You don't play the AFC in the playoffs until the Super Bowl. I won't mind if we get that far.

WOW, are you joking, we have'nt been able to win 2 games in a row all year, now you have us running the table all the way to the NFC Championship game. Please, take a breath, and try to keep it real. If we win 1 out of the next 2, and have solid performances on both sides of the ball, it will be a good start for next year. This team is not ready for the playoffs just yet.

I'd have to disagree with your assessment, 1fan. Look at the teams ahead of us. I feel that we beat Green Bay in the regular season, but the refs stole the game from us. To make the playoffs we would have to beat the Vikings, so we know we could beat them again in the playoffs. We very nearly beat the E-gals with TO, I think we would smash them this time.
The Rams? The Seahawks? The Cardinals? Please! That only leaves Atlanta, and our D can take care of their only offensive weapons (Vick, Dunn, and Crumpler). I see us making the Bowl if we actually back into the playoffs. What we do against the AFC team is another question, but we played Pittsburgh extremely close, and we were the last team to beat the Patriots before their record streak, and that was in Spurrier's system. I think Gibbs would have us prepared if we did make it that far.

Yeah we played all these teams tough, but didn't find a way to win any of them. Too many first and goals backed up by penalties, sacks or turnovers. I consider myself a "core" Redskin fan, but you have to look at it realistically. We have'nt won 2 games in a row all year, to get to the "bowl" we'd have to win the final 3 regular season games, and another 3 playoff games on the road. As I'm writing this I'm laughing out loud wakeing the kids. Next year will be a different story.
No doubt that we're the team on the rise while others are coasting into the playoffs. We can handle Atlanta, Minnesota, Green Bay, and the star-depleted Eagles in a playoff run. If we qualify for the playoffs, I think we go far. Getting in is the kicker...

I am a little bummed actually. Wilbon is always down on the big things like this for us. Why is he like that?
Anyway I'm bummed because if we do beat the Eagles all the Eagles fans will claim it's due only to TO's injury!
