Name that section!!!

Post by BossHog »

We're going to be starting a new thing on the message boards, at an as of yet undetermined time and date, but we want your help naming the project. You can read all about it if you haven't already, right here

http://www.the-hogs.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1507

So we want to know what you guys/gals think the best name for this new section should be....

I will run the poll for 3 days, and whichever gets the most votes will be the name of the new section.

It's hard not to like "Scrapple"... it kind of has a double meaning to it that's perfect for a debate type forum :D

ok... if we're padding stats by opinionating in the thread...

... how many people even know what scrapple is?

I voted for Pork Bowl... but I'm gonna call it whatever wins the poll.

I know what it is, and I've actually eaten it before! (not for a long time though... fortunately) :P

But it probably is a relatively obscure food product (which is a debate in and of itself :? )

OK Scrapple 101

Last year my brother decided to rise some pigs. He got them slaugthered and cleaned and he had them at the house when I happened to be there one weekend. After a couple hours and a few beers we decided to cut the pigs up are selfs. We were making 3 inch chops and stuff like that, well off to the side we had a bucket. The bucket was for throwing the pig scraps in ...hence the name scrapple. It what's left after the pigs is cut up, they take it and grind it up and season with spices, sage. Kind of like a hot dog,but it's cut it into blocks. It actully pretty good.

Scrapple is too closely tied to Philthydelphia for my liking.

I agree! Don't want to be confused with those Philthy Phans in any way, shape or forum!!! :thump: :thump: :thump:

And truthfully, the whole scrapple thing and it's meaning raise seriously disgusting images in my vegetarian mind. YUCK! :puke: SCRAPPLE

C'mon Pork Bowl! We won't make the SuperBowl, but we can at least be at the Pork Bowl!

gee I like that DE Hog... but we gotta claim a winner now after all of this.

Very diplomatic though, and I will definitely give it some thought. Don't wanna have to vote on the vote though.

yeah I think i'm gonna give myself a day or two to do up a graphic and figure out how I'm gonna work it into the forum design so that the participants get some play. It'll also give the guys a couple of days to 'prepare' though I dunno how longthat'll take csince they're both already chomping at the bit.

Gonna just figure out a couple of guidelines, and a good day and time for it to happen. Obviously we want as many people here 'live' as possible to heckle and stuff.

I was thinking that I'd actually create a separate forum for the event, and that way I can just move it around accordingly. Dunno though... we'll see. I was thinking Monday Nights would be a good time, but I have no idea.
