Could this be a bit of a bigger play for the teams to take greater responsibility for the all-round health of players, beyond sporting injuries? I'm really not sure where those boundaries actually lie at the moment
Sounds like it.
Sounds, immediately, like the Redskin medical staff gave Trent a ...

Re: US Women's Team Plays England
One of the best games of any sort. Constant action, up and down the field, early goal by Christen Press who subbed for Megan Rapinoe, England stunned, US presses for another goal, and then the English push for a goal, wham, back and forth, and then Alex Morgan scores. By that time, I was yelling ...

Re: US Women's Team Plays England
The U.S. team is going to need someone other than Megan Rapinoe to step up or they won't be seeing the Finals.
The US team has many more fine players than Rapinoe. Alex Morgan is one, and the English press is talking about a double one-on-one matchup: Rapinoe against their star, Lucy Bronze, and ...

Re: The Trent Thread
Trent needs to get over himself and learn how to make an appointment with a specialist if he is concerned about a bump on his head. Big dummy. This is where not drafting correctly with a backup Tackle somewhere on the roster would help these people making the draft day decisions. How about moving up ...

Re: The Trent Thread
I think it is likely that Trent W. is furious with the Redskin medical staff. That's what Gruden says he has heard. All other "questions" seem without any foundation, which is astonishing, considering how quickly this thread went into a collective rage against Williams for being greedy. Any Redskin ...

Every article, after the earliest one, says that the player is furious that the Redskins' medical staff failed to warn him about a cancerous growth on his scalp. The growth turned out benign, but his anger remains. What evidence is there that he is trying to push for more money? Is this "Trent is ...

Re: Doctson
Good decision to refuse the 5th year option. Doctson has been a nothing very season. Aside from Doctson's constant injuries, Boswell kept mentioning that Doctson does not run a route, or, at best, does not run his routes accurately. The 78 targets in a "good" year indicate that Doctson often is not ...

Draft a WR, even though the last first round WR the Redskins drafted and who did well was: Art Monk, 1980. Before that? Charley Taylor. Drop Doctson and Richardson.
We know about Josh Doctson, and the second round flops in the Zorn years, and the guy (Rod Gardner?) who complained when Joe Gibbs did ...

Re: Keenum
Keenum is the smartest choice Redskin management could have made: a OK starting QB for only a 6th or 7th round pick, and Denver picks up part of his salary. Rare for me to say that Allen (and his employees) have made a smart move, but, so it is.
However, the Redskins need to draft a good QB, and ...

Here's a list to check as the Redskins begin to draft. I hope they ignore QB with their top picks. Too many holes in the lineup. They can lose with a rookie QB or they can lose with Colt McCoy.

Gov. Hogan has been persuaded to take Maryland out of the reverse-competition for the next Redskin stadium. ("First prize: one week in Zurich. Second prize: two weeks in Zurich. Third prize: three weeks in Zurich").

Re: Alex Smith Is "Day-To-Day"
As one of the Post reporters put it last week, Bruce Allen insults the fan-base by by assuming that we believe the lies he tells. The denial of ESPN reports on Smith's health are the ultimate non-denial denial. Smith doesn't look ahead to next season or the rest of his career: he's a "day-to-day ...

Re: Possible QB options for 2019?
I hope that the Redskins take the cap hit for Alex Smith this year, as suggested above. Smith will not be strong enough to play in 2019, so why hold his contract/rights through 2020? Without Smith, the 2019 season will be another 6 - 8 win season, no matter who the team signs at QB.

Tank.
Forget the 2019 season. Take the cap hit on Alex Smith. Trade Josh Norman, who might not be worth the money they pay, and who certainly will not make a difference in standings next season. Use Colt McCoy at QB. Play down to get to a top draft position. By winning six or nine games a season ...
