I gave a grade of C+ for our draft in my earlier post. Now I can see where you guys are coming from. I agree that Carlos Rogers was easily the best pick for us. Most of you guys are seeing the best-case scenarios about the rest. I'm not saying we did too bad but I'm not quite convinced either ...

Jason Campbell

Jason Campbell
... the most controversial Skins pick of the draft. Here's my take on him: The most pertinent question is this: is he worth a 3rd round pick this year, and 1st and 4th round picks next year? I don't know if *anybody* rated him to be that good. Now, if the Skins had the 25th pick ...

guys you gotta be kidding me if you're justifying portis and/or taylor in any way shape or form. the last i understood, everybody except the "U" players didn't have a 14-2 season here. everybody had a 6-10 season. if the rest of them can get their butts into the redskins park and train, why not ...

how much of brunell's performance was his problem last year?

So there's the talk of jon jansen's injury and OL troubles, lack of a credible passing game, overall slappy offensive play, and Brunell's perceived (hey, i'm being nice to him here!) lack of arm strength as explanations for 'the worst performance in 20 years of football watching'. (read clinton ...

Has Smoot ever played in the same defense for 2 seasons in NFL? May be continuity was scary for him.

Anyway, good luck Smoot. I hope we can trade down and get a WR and a CB in the early rounds. My choices:

WR:
1) Troy Williamson, SC, 6-1 3/8, 203, 4.38
2) Mark Clayton, OK, 5-10 3/8, 193, 4 ...

Dan Snyder - you're a great fan!

Whoa! I feel like I've gone on a time machine into a glorious past and I am seeing all these amazing and awe inspiring people! Can't wait to see us next season - I mean it all the way - on the field and on the sidelines!

I think finally we all see what a fan Dan Snyder is. He has brought in the ...

BTW, I saw in the Post today that McCants has a knee injury! Any idea how serious it is?

"Wide receiver Darnerien McCants was on crutches yesterday and underwent an MRI exam on his knee, but Spurrier described the injury as a contusion."

I voted yes despite his performance. I think what this team most, over and beyond even wins, is stability. By stability, I don't mean the same defensive "system" and the same offensive coaches for consecutive years. The stability should go all the way upto a sane front office with an experienced GM ...

lets face it. don't you think spurrier knew what would be the result if the call didn't work? at this level, someone has to be plain retarded to call a play like that without knowing its implications. i wouldn't call it irresponsible if he did it knowingly. that needed guts! that meant that he was ...

I agree Spurrier has to go! He has had his time, his team and his supporting cast. He has shown that he cannot beat the defenses in this league. It's too dangerous to keep him with the team after this season at least for the life of Ramsey!

Spurrier has blamed his players for not fighting, and has promised major changes! what has this team come to? the coach openly blames his players for not giving 100% for him. well, shame on him and shame on them!

other than firing the coaches midseason (which is not going to happen), what are the ...

spurrier always speaks the same way. spoke always the same way after fsu games. the man believes a lot in his offense and is a bit reluctant to change. this is well known and it can also be a good thing. it looks like changes will be a bit slow to come. but one thing is for certain. spurrier is not ...

GO MAX PROTECTION
We have speed with our receivers and backs. Why can't we curtail our offense occasionally (particularly under heavy blitz) and go for max protection? Even otherwise use quick screens and slants with 3 step drops?

Spurrier - time for some major changes!!!

i guess its time for max protection. that'll curtail the offense and the possibilities of big plays. but atleast occasionally we gotta go for max protection. blocking schemes may need big changes but i dunno if you can do much during midseason.

From his postgame quotes, it looks like Spurrier doesn't his OL/other blockers to keep P-Ram upright. I think that is perfectly legitimate. Hopefully, this indictment lights their rear ends and brings in some good plays and safe outings for P-Ram. I thought Spurrier's words were quite forthright and ...

my other question was precisely that. why should the ball be spotted if the FG is missed? shouldn't the line of scrimmage matter?
