Pretty good article on some positive progress in some key areas that Gruden has been looking for improvement in. Hopefully the trend continues this week. I expect it will.

Re: 2014 Projected Roster
I'm intrigued by the UDFA from BYU Cody Hoffman. He fills a size need that nobody but Hankerson can fill. Unless he has a lights out pre-season, he's likely to start on the practice squad. He was one of the top UDFAs out there after the draft. You never know though, he could come in and nudge ...

Re: Trent Murphy
I looked at quite a few articles on him. I found this one encouraging. They really like his skills against the run and say that is what keeps most rookie pass rushers of the field. With his work ethic he'll increase his burst. I saw another article that showed Jared Allen's bio coming out of college ...

Re: Saturday Draft Selections
My guess on the kicker is that he's going to be brought in for the Skins guys to look at and will be a camp body. Once the reg. season begins, he'll be reverted to the practice squad in case something happens to Kai. If he continues to show that he can play in practice and Kai gets hurt, you've got ...

Agreed. These guys are pro's at evaluation so there must be something that is not visible to us watching on the periphery.

Re: Saturday Draft Selections
Sure. If we had no kicker already. But since Kai has been the first consistent kicker we've had in years I'm perplexed that they think an average college kicker can come in and outperform him. I get the kick-off thing, but that doesn't appear to be his huge strength, kicking it out of the end zone ...

Re: Saturday Draft Selections
No. Highest I saw him anywhere was 6th. Seemed like he had a pretty average year last year as well. I'm puzzled on this one.

Re: Saturday Draft Selections
That kicker pick is a mystery to me. Questionable size and leg strength? Dude would have been available as a free agent. The extra 7th was a waste. Good players like Skov and Ahmad Dixon on the board that could have helped.

No prob. Any guy who averaged 9.1yds per carry last season can't hurt.

Yeah. Not much of a body of evidence to choose from there. More of a change of pace back to Alfred. Very different styles.

Re: Saturday Draft Selections
Baylor didn't throw alot out of the backfield. So not known for his hands. Elusive in the open field though so if he has the natural ability that Baylor didn't use he'll be dangerous.

Re: Saturday Draft Selections
My daughter goes to Baylor. Flat steal in the 6th round. Have watched him alot over the last 2 years. twice in person. Reminds me of Barry Sanders. Very shifty. Breakaway speed. Great pick-up. He should have went higher.

Re: Rob Jackson Returns!
I'm sure his suspension last year and having 1 strike now didn't play to his advantage on the open market. He proved to be more than a capable back-up 2 years ago when Rak went down. Great move that provides some insurance in case Brandon Jenkins doesn't take a step up this year or can't stay healthy.

Re: DL Big signing (Jason Hatcher)
i don't think he was a starter until 2011, so the guy has less wear and tear on him than a typical 32 year old. Also, since he was a late starter you'd expect to see him making big jumps the first few years. Not sure he'll duplicate 11 sacks, but we need QB pressure and he brings that from the ...

Re: ILB/Darryl Sharpton
A lot of what I saw said the 1 year deal was related to concerns over his ability to stay healthy. I expect to see a move at ILB in the draft. Keenan Robinson has had a good long time to heal as well, so I expect him to be a factor for the starting job, also.

Re: DB Tracy Porter signs
I like this signing as well. I didn't watch the Raiders much for obvious reasons. However, a lot of the posts I've read on other sites seem to indicate he was their best DB last year. The only concerns I saw were his tackling ability and sometimes playing too soft. We know that playing soft can be ...

Re: Thoughts on McVay as OC??
Players universally say he is a brilliant football mind and can teach the game. We need both. This was from
ey, Fletcher, and Paul. All pretty credible sources. I read more unilateral support on-line for McVay today than anyone else on the staff.

Re: Lay off RGIII
Shanahan dug his own hole. He was key to the decision that cost $18M for 2 years. He has stuck with a defensive coordinator who continues to put an inferior product on the field. He is hard headed in his decision making and only sees one way to do business, whether it's working or not. He stuck with ...

Re: Lay off RGIII
Robert Griffin III has gotten a ton of flak this season, and IMO almost none of it is deserved. He was badly injured in last season's playoffs and he worked his tail off to get in playing shape by the time the season started. It was described as a "superhuman" feat. He is an amazingly hard worker ...

Re: Lay off RGIII
Agreed. No doubt he a confident guy. That confidence has been exploited by the media to create controversy. Playing Cousin's has provided some insight. The items we believed were issues are proven out in Kirk's play. Kirk makes faster decisions at this point. He anticipates better and throws to a ...

Re: "Snyder, RG3 made mistakes, but Skins disaster is Shanah
i've been a big Shanahan supporter all along until the last few weeks. I can't forgive his behavior during this debacle. The dude makes $7M a year. He's paid premium executive money to deliver a premium executive experience for the Washington Redskins, not himself. His me first, I'm always right ...

There are so many player analysis sites out there, but I'm partial to this one on Philip Thomas. I hope he lives up to this.
