Re: Can't Win Without Him?

Donovan McNabb has been quoted as saying that the Redskins can't win without Haynesworth. Does anyone know if this is a joke or not? If true, I find that insulting from our starting quarterback.
He meant it when he said it. Then he went down the hallway chasing a dog with a fluffy tail...

I'm ...

While I think it's a good move to get rid of this slob, I don't think that's best for the franchise right now - we get more value keeping this guy and hopefully having someone want (OR need) to make a trade for him than we do by trying to trade his out of shape fat rear end right now

I could care ...

we are very lucky to have this guy leading this team and running the offense this year - everyone in the NFL, I believe, knows what to expect from Donovan - on the other hand, I'm not sure that anyone in the NFL truly respects this fat slob that is not even honest with himself let alone the players ...

The WR position is an issue but this offense is going to be a whole lot better than what we saw here in B&G last season

we have a number of offensive concerns (RB, OL, WR) but we are on the right track - from where we were at the end of last season to where we are now is a huge improvement but it ...

I think coaches who are conservative or Republican are more likely to be successful at the NFL level and a liberal or Democrat leaning coach is more likely to be a good Fantasy football coach

well at least that makes more sense than looking at Shanahan's record against Phillips as a likely ...

That's a very well thought out post - there are a lot of facts that you bring back into the light of reality

I'm just disapointed in this guy and really just want to focus on the now

this guy took the 21 mil and then indicated that he and the defense would be a lot better off if he did not ...

You're also making the assumption that AH would even consider playing for 9 over 3 years. I mean, he basically sat out because of the change to a 3-4! And he has announced to the world that he won't do even required off-season workouts.

He's clearly a talented guy, and he is massive, but is there ...

Raiders make no sense to me. Only thing is he grew up in LA so maybe grew up a Raider fan.

He could be hoping to be signed by the Raiders and cut mid-year like DeAngelo Hall and then sign a third contract in one year. Who knows what goes through these guys heads.

what does this have to do ...

As for a trading partner, I would think Tennessee, Tampa Bay, and Oakland would all be top contenders for AH's services. But as I have stated repeatedly, his trade value drops every day this drama is allowed to continue.

What in God's name makes you think anyone would trade for a part-time player ...

If Haynesworth can't play well enough to hold a starting position, then let him talk with Devin Thomas on the bench. And wave "bye" during the off-season.

Or sooner.

At some point, Shanahan and Allen weigh it:

- You can't pile $9 million on the field and have the money-pile stop an offense ...

We need Haynesworth to help this defense - BUT we do not need Haynesworth to be on the field until he's in good enough shape to help the players around him - if he's not in shape then the other players have to cover for him - he's not playing until he shows Shanahan that he is in shape

why are ...

Just like before he could practice at Camp - this fat slob needs to show Haslett and Shanahan that he will be able to play when they want him to play AND at the level that they want - NOT what he thinks is 'OK"

So ... this slob has to show in practice this week that he's ready, willing and able ...

People close to Haynesworth on the team insist he would play hard against the Cowboys. The Redskins are better with Haynesworth on the field, two of his teammates said Saturday, adding they hope Shanahan views the situation similarly.
OK - I think that most here agree that Haynesworth does NOT ...

Minnesota was in a bit of a bidding war for him when Seattle got him... they may still want him... if that's the case, why would he come here?

there are some that think that the Packers will win that division and TJ certainly helps the Redskins - as it stands now there are some that think this ...

I worry that Mike is taking this too far at this point. His previous staffs have said he can be crazy at times...
Big Al NEEDED the reps... remember this is a new scheme for him and new terminology
Shanahan NEEDS him to be fully ready to go next week.
Seems to me it was needed, considering AH ...
