So...this was a non-title match, right?

80 yards on 23 carries for Portis...
The championship belt was nowhere to be seen last night!!!
This MUST have been a "non-title" match, right?
Was the title vacated due to ref interference?
What's the storyline behind this???
Will commissioner Gibbs issue a rematch, in a cage, so Clinton can prove that he's really the champ?
Obviously, his parading around with a gold belt was fun n'games, but I wish he would have backed up his "championship parade" from a week ago, with a similar outing against the Iggles.
Time to go steam roll the Niners!

A week ago he was going against the #1 rusher in the NFC in Tiki Barber, as was he going against Priest Holmes the first time that he brought out the belt when he was with Denver.
The point being that he went up against who everyone perceived to be the best and outrushed them. This time though, it was his team playing jokes by bringing out the belt.

I think that's being a little picky. He played pretty well (2 TDs in addition to 80 yards). He'll still probably break the 'skins season rushing record - in the grand scheme, he's playing well and will only get better...

What does he need to break 'skins season rushing record?'

Please do not let the defeat take away from the magnificent effort made by our Team. 2TDs and 80 yards, yes. But he did that with a patched up OL!!! He was only a tackle away from big breaks a few times.
I will go to war with him every Sunday.

Looks like someone has a case of the "Mondays"
148 yds vs. the Giants is one thing. The Philly defense was not going to allow for that. The true topic here should be "Where are the down field passes?" The fact of the matter is "Old School" fans will find it hard to accept the edgey vibe that guys like Portis and Taylor bring to the team. If every player was as humble as Barry Sanders then what would be the difference. I like Portis' style and the belt, and the talking. Now if the rest of the offense could just do it's part we'd be in buisness.

I have to agree with RedeemedSkins. We bloodied and beat on that D-line until they were relying on 3rd string DT's and yet we couldn't pound the ball on them? I don't really blame it on Portis, but 23 carries just doesn't seem like enough when the team you are playing loses all but one of its starting D-linemen. I can't undesrtand why Gibbs didn't smack 'em right in the nose. Almost all of our runs were slow developing counters and off tackles. When you are going against 3rd strings interior linemen why don't you just run it up the middle. Trying for the cutback run just plays into the hands of thier Linebackers....who were plenty healthy.

Its a shame to see such talent fade away on a losing team. But, I think next year will be better for you...maybe 8-8

Stephen Davis in 2001 with 1,432
Portis is at 1173
so according to my calculator thats 259 yards in three games. I think he should be able to do it, he's on pace for 1444.

It's a shame you can't make it to and win a super bowl. (Sorry mods, I know this is flaming - I apologize).

Great minds think alike. BTW, it's "RedeemedSKIN", the singular form of "Redeemedskins". Accept no imitations.Though he wrote this almost a week ago, chaddukes wrote:You Yahoo! You better hope you make it to the SuperBowl this year cause next year is the end of your reign!

After barely beating the girls, the Iggles have no chance to win the Superbowl. Must be all the leftover turkey bones from Thanksgiving, or something, playoff choke.
