REFS STEAL 3rd GAME FROM SKINS, NEED TO BE BEATEN TO DEATH

i don't want to hear a SINGLE word of bullcrap about how we suck, or that we could/should have done this or that to win this game. HELLO!???> WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!!!!!!! WE WON THE GAME. WE BEAT THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFC. anyone who was watching this game and isn't blind should know that this is basically irrefutable, inarguable. the refs absolutely raped us all game long.
1: they gave the eagles a free TD in the beginning of the game, by calling an insane bullcrap pass interference on springs, when it was UNQUESTIONABLE and OBVIOUS that OWENS had his hand in springs's face SHOVING HIM AWAY. what should have been offensive PI instead gave the eagles 1st and goal for an easy, free, undeserved TD. take away that TD and the redskins win the game.
2: there were many less significant calls throughout the game that were absolutely AWFUL, that all went against the skins. some complete bullcrap penalties, and innumerous RIDICULOUSLY TERRIBLE spots that took away 1st downs from us or gave them to philly. none of these individually was that immense, but added up they were huge.
3: on the complete bullcrap "INT" in the endzone, the ref who actually said with a straight face "the player had possession, and got both feet in bounds" needs to have his head smashed in with a baseball bat, so that he chokes on his own blood and gags on pieces of his own skull. there was ABSOLUTELY NO WAY the eagle had control of that ball at ANY point until his entire body was out of the end zone!!!
to allow these three things to happen is absolutely inexcusable, and something needs to be done IMMEDIATELY. the officiating gets worse and worse every year, and no game even means anything anymore because the results just reflect whatever fantasy world exists in the refs' heads, instead of reality.
what happens if we get back those 3 games that were inarguably STOLEN from the skins and GIVEN to the other team, guess what? WE GO TO THE PLAYOFFS, THAT'S WHAT. by the way the other 2 games were the cowboys game (the refs GAVE them 14 points) and the packers (stole our game-winning TD on BS "illegal motion" call).
i don't want to hear ANY arguments over this. those refs need to be beaten to death, and that is final. we are getting near the offseason, and i need WINS to keep me HAPPY throughout that long, long time with no football. "improvement" is not good enough-- sure that may make us happy NEXT year, but we deserve to get the WINS that we EARN right now.
IS ANYONE ELSE AS PISSED AS I AM?????? LET ME HEAR YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You are exactly right man, couldn't have said it better myself. We should have voted for the ref's pay raise, we didn't and the refs are letting us feel it. Get used to it man...you are a Redskins fan.

hahahaha maybe you are right! but geez how can they say they deserve a pay raise? they should have to pay US for calling a game like that!
thanks to all for letting me rant, by the way... i've calmed down a little but boy does that crap piss me off. it boggles my mind that the league or the coaches haven't done something and demanded some major changes.

Well Gibbs sends in videos of the bad calls weekly. It hasn't helped much...we had about 140 yards in total penalty yards (correct me if I'm wrong). Whats up with Sellers bad attitude? Was it just me or did Sellers take Taylor's spot as instigator? LOL

he's been in trouble for drugs and such in the past... i thought i remembered him being maligned for "character" issues, and wondered how he ended up here with gibbs...
though i really wonder- did the refs blow the whistle on that punt play? it looked to me like he thought the play was still going, and was just blocking the guy. obviously he can't turn around to check if the play is still going on, so if the refs didn't blow the whistle it would be outrageous for them to flag him for that.

I couldn't agree with you more! Its not just us the refs have screwed over either.
I'm surprised the league hasn't done anything about it yet. If the league doesn't step in to stop it then the refs will keep doing it.

I bet the little ref association just throws the tapes away before they even watch them. Ahaha, they're probably like.."Oh it's from Gibbs, trash it"
And I think we should sell Sellers cuz he's a sell-out.
LoL DCD, That's a pretty intense post about the bat smashing in the ref's skull. MAN! Whew, that's intense.

Refs were not that bad. The Owens offense pass interference, called against Springs, was clearly, inexcusably a bad call.
However, I saw, in the slo-mo, that what looked like Pinkston running into the Redskin defender (can't remember who) in 4Q, was the Redskin with left arm reaching back across Pinkston;'s chest to hold him from cutting inside to the ball. Skins were lucky on that.
Sellars deserved both penalties, and they were Redskin-killers, unless he never heard the whistle. Possible...maybe the crowd was noisy...but all the other players heard it.
McCants take-down on the slick Portis run to the left. Deserved a penalty. That's not even similar to a block.

I love the skins but we I'm not giving them a pass on the backs of the refs. We lost this game because Joe was afraid to attack the eagles from beginning to end. Where was all the creativity from the offense this week. Why were the plays coming in so late this week. Why dont we use the H-back as more of a lead blocker on obvious short yardage downs. The redskins always get bad calls however it's not the reason why we lost this game or why we are 4-9. We lost because the offense cant get it done week to week. Another tough one to swallow.

As an impartial observer (I hate both the Eagles and Redskins), let me say that several of the calls that people are complaining about weren't nearly as bad as you're making them out to be.
On the Owens/Springs PI, while Owens clearly had his hand/forearm on Springs' chest/neck, if you look closely, you'll see Springs' left fingers wrapping around Owens' right bicep. From any view other the camera angle, it would look somewhat blatant on Springs. Remember that the officials aren't watching what we are at home.
The Ramsey interception was about as clear an interception as could be. Dawkins' left knee touched in-bounds. End of story.
The biggest blown call was the Harris/Pinkston non-call. Harris clearly reached back with his left arm and hooked Pinkston's left shoulder and brought him down.
While I agree that the officiating as a whole has been atrocious this season, especially in this watered down league where parity magnifies every call, this game was properly decided on the field.

Refs didn't beat us, I don't even think the Eagles beat us. Like a lot of games this year we are close but manage to make the mistakes that end up costing us the games. Hopefully next year (and I believe this to be true) we will be much better after a full season of learning from our "own mistakes".

Blaming it on the refs is just sad! We lost this game. The Redskins couldn't do enough to win. Plain and simple. Bad playcalling, and penalties kept us from getting any consistent offense, and when we had a chance to tie or score...a couple of mistakes by our QB.
The Eagles won....Get over it! Maybe next year we'll be better.

Are you sure you are talking about the same play? Because it was his left hand wrapping around TO's waist that likely drew the call, since you can clearly see the ref in the clip, looking right at the play from almost the same angle as the camera. What the ref couldn't see, was TO's hand up in Springs's chin strap.

The ball was moving when his knee went down. If it had been called incomplete, it would've been upheld on review, IMO.

That's BS. Pinkston stepped on Harris and they both fell down.

Thanks for your opinion. It means a lot coming from a fan of a team who has been handed several games by the bad officiating this season.

Can we please get a grip. Defensive INT is always questionable when it's called on your team.
The refs did NOT cost the Skins this game. the eagles played a horrible game for them, and still won.
why is it we can't admit our team lost?
The refs spotting of the ball was fine. When they made mistakes it was corrected.
The final Interception was obviously an interception. Hell they even reviewed it!
Take off those jaded glasses!

Because the refs screwed us hard....I mean real hard against Green Bay. They also got a piece of us against the Cowboys. Whats next? The Eagles.
I wonder what else they're gonna screw up!

Really good teams are able to play through bad calls and win the game. It's not our year, time to come to grips.

They may not always be questuonable but that one was a no brainer if it was PI it was on the offense Maybe next time you watch it you should put on your glasses (color doesn't matter

)

I'll agree they may not have cost us the game and the Eagles didn't play their best game. We've all admitted that we lost the game it's the why that people can't agree on
wonker wrote:The refs spotting of the ball was fine. When they made mistakes it was corrected.
There were 3 or 4 bad spots in that game none were corrected

Wasn't all that obvious to anyone or they wouldn't have reveiwed it however they did make the right call

I'm not ready to say the calls cost us the game. I would however like to see some rule changes..
1 I'd like to see PI be a reveiwable play or just by a 15 yarder. 49 yards is way to much.
2 I'd like to see defensive holding just be 5 yards and not a automatic first down.

How fair is it to the offense if a DB can tackle a receiver that had no one left to beat if they only get 15 yards instead of a touchdown?

I'm gonna answer your question with a question. How fair is it to see a team strugle hard on offense and when they finally make a good play. You flag them for a very questionable call? For example, a hot read to a running back for a touchdown.
How fair is it to a team who plays their heart out only to see all that they just played for be pissed away on a blown call? For example...ripping a shoulder pad out of a reciever's jersey so you can get between him and the ball and make a real good catch for a INT.
By the way that blown call came right after the questionable call that took back a hard earned 6 points.
How fair is it?

I think he's thinking from his emotions.....
I agree, a PI can't only be a fifteen yard penalty, all you have to do is look at a senario like it's the 4th quarter with 30 seconds to go, no timeouts, and someones offense needs 70 yards for a touchdown... if there launching them down field, it would almost be beneficial to PI any long balls that were catchable, because you'd only be giving up 15 as oppose to 50... or where ever the spot of the foul would be...

I'm getting cross-eyed from GF's icon/avatar, but NC43 has it just right:
Refs didn't beat us, I don't even think the Eagles beat us. Like a lot of games this year we are close but manage to make the mistakes that end up costing us the games.
The Owens PI was a blown call, but the refs missed one against Harris (?) later when he held Pinkston. That happens.
Next year -- maybe next week -- Ramsey will throw THAT ball 10 yards out of the endzone, and the Skins will go on to score the game winning TD. It's close, but not far away.

A whole lot closer than it looks just a few weeks ago, that's for sure.
