Big Day for Big Player

Those of you who have been here for a while, know that I am the first one to admit when I am wrong. But with that comes being able to gloat when you are correct, even if it is only for a game or two.
It seems as though my (at one point scoffed at by many)assesment, that Patrick Ramsey is not only our future, but currently a prime-time type player might be right. 19-of-22 and three touches, without a pick... those are nice numbers.
Most impressive about his day was that he did it against the league's 5th best passing defense.
My question here is... what kind of numbers do we expect from Patrick Ramsey against a more formidable Eagles defens.

I think the eagles are in for their second loss. I think our offense is turning the corner and gibbs's play calling is starting to open up. The eagles can't expect 15 WR screen passes this game. Our defense sort of slacked off last time around against the eagles when it was evident we weren't going to win. This time, we'll hold them down and run and pass all over them. I don't think we'll loose. The d with stop TO and portis will blow it up.

I think you need to calm down here. The skins did a good job against a d-line with 3 starters missing. Lets get it into perspective. The good thing about this win is that it will give the whole offence confidence that they can do it. Thats the key thing. I do believe we will give the Eagles a hard time. I still think the Eagles will win by 3.

Before we start nominating Ramsey to be in the Hall of Fame, we need to realize that his performance on Sunday was ONE game. We should also be talking about how the WR's didn't drop any passes, how the O-line was playing well, how Portis made some of his niftiest moves of the year, and how well the play calling was. For Ramsey to do so well, those around him must do equally as well.

i think it's a delicate balancing act for joe gibbs; being conservative with ramsey so that he doesn't force throws and make mistakes, while allowing him enough freedom to make something happen. that balance was perfect on sunday against the giants. if gibbs can continue to strike that balance against the eagles, it'll be close until the final gun, methinks.

Nope, I'm thinking we are going to win, look at the eagles schedule, they haven't played anyone much like us, they have a pretty weak schedule. The two teams we can compare against are the giants and the steelers with our current line up. They got destroyed by the steelers while we hung in there against them. Then we both destroyed the giants, 27-6 for them and 31-7 for us. We hung in there against the eagles last time for ramsey's first outing. The team gelled this week and I have no reason to doubt it won't happen this sunday as well. We will win

We still have inconsistant play from our wide receivers.
The Eagles run defense has got better and better over the last 4 weeks (Trotter).
I suspect Ramsey will have similar numbers to the first Philly game but he will make less mistakes as he continues to get into a groove.
The Eagles secondary is suprisingly good. Look for the Eagles to focus on the run, and go man to man on the WR's. That will leave their speedy linebackers and safeties to cover

ey and Thrash.
It will be a defensive game, low scoring.
We can only hope that our defense does not collapse in the 4th quarter like they did 3 weeks ago.

It is going tobe a brawl! (in the good sense)
It is a test of character and will. It is a character of concentration and execution.
I sincerely believe that the Skins will put P. to the test. Sure I believe we -are- going to win. But I would say that goinginto a real fight against anybody.

In order for Ramsey to throw passes, the running game has to work. Portis has to get some yards. Last time the Figlies shut out our running game, leaving Ramsey's only option to passing the ball. That didn't work too well. Portis has to get some yards, then the passing game will work. Come on Porty run hard

It matters less how Ramsey plays and more how the line and Portis play..This game hinges on Portis getting a buck!! If he does we win if not we lose.

I think that the Eagles are expecting the team they played a few weeks ago. Happily to their suprise they will not. I beleive that our offense is now starting to click, and with

ey as a valuable red-zone receiver, me may just come up on top over those god damn iggles!

^^^^^^^That's it in a Nut shell^^^^^^^^
Ramsey will benifit from both and will surpass his performance last week if the O=line can handle Illy like they handled the gints. We haven't lost when Portis gets a Hundred.

"anyone much like us" what is that?
dude we are 4-8 with the worst offense in the league... the eagles play teams like us everyweek... look at the NFC it sucks....
slow down on the kool aid....
last week was a step in the right direction... but the giants are really decimated on defense...
we will keep it close for 3 quarters and lose in the 4th... to a better team... if we generate turnovers and play well like last week... then yeah we can win...
but if we are so great why are we 9.5 point underdogs at home?
21-10... philly covers...

why? because when asked who the best run defense in the league was aside from Pitt, Chris Mortensen said New England.
As great as the Skins defense is, they still get no respect just because the offense sucked under Brunell and we lost games because of it. Philly is a pretty good team playing a lot of pretty bad teams and winning in the process. Why wouldn't they be 9.5 point favorites at fedex?
The fact remains, if we beat Philly this week and the 49ers next week, we will still be an underdog going into Dallas the week after. That's how it works. Cowboys get more respect than they deserve and we get less. Does that mean we will lose that game? I think not...
Skins over Philly 31-17
