I just wanted to see what everyone thinks about the last 6 games. If we can upset Pittsburg..we then go back home to face NY and Phila. Am I way off but, if we can win 5 out of our last 6 games and all of the division games...would'nt 8-8 be enough in the NFC to get a wild card??????

Crowd was a big part of Eagles game...Giants we gave them one, and Dallas is going down hill quicker than we r. San Fran and Minn should be winnable games.

I watched the Pittsburg game against Cincy and they looked very beatable. If we come in with a good game plan and stuff the run we can definately take that game. Roethlesburger didn't look very sharp on Sunday and he got sacked a lot. He fumbled once and I don't understand why that doesn't happen more because he naver has two hands on the ball, he just waives it out there even when he's getting hit. Somebody has to strip that ball from him. However, we don't have the pass rush that Cincy showed this week but Gregg's a smart guy. I wish Lavar was playing. Only problem is that Deuce is meant to be back but we can take him, we have in the past.

I am also curious about the playoff possibilities...been waiting for Mort of Clayton etc. but they've been too busy with Pitt and NE...Do any of our more knowledgeable fans know the specific scenarios?

Well in the NFC there are only 5 teams over .500 -- Philly (9-1), Atlanta (8-2), Green Bay (6-4), Minnesota (6-4), and Seattle (6-4) -- while there are eight teams over .500 in the AFC. The Giants and Rams are .500. Philly, Atlanta, and Seattle are all in different divisions while GB and Minny are both in the North. Therefore, if the season ended today, the Vikes and Packers both get in and one of the .500 teams makes it too! So it is definately possible that an 8-8 team from the NFC will get in but there is still plenty of football to go.

So we need to win at least five more games and hope NY and St. Louis go in the tank?

3 of the Rams final 6 games are against San Fran, Carolina, and Arizona.

Count me out. It is a cliché but it works for me:
One game at a time.
Of course I am looking for victories but REALLY what I am looking for is a cohesive unit that executes well with great character.

1. I want those stupid penalties to STOP. They are a stab in our back.

2. I want my WRs to STOP dropping passes. They give me an ulcer everytime.

3. I want to know that my QB and RB can trust the OL.

If and only if th above three objectives can be acomplished this week, we will get a good result, regardless of the score. One game can turn things around for us.

Joe Gibbs Says Don't Count the Team out Just yet

ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - The head coach of the Washington Redskins says the next six games are the most important part of the season.

Joe Gibbs says it's how you finish ``down the stretch.''

Gibbs comments come in response to those who believe the Redskins' season has been over for weeks. The coach says the team is frustrated with its three-and-seven record and he's taking responsibility for the losses saying in his words -- ``I'm to blame.''

The players, however, don't agree. Tackle Ray Brown says the coaches are NOT the ones committing mistakes on the field. The Redskins face another tough challenge Sunday when they go up against the nine-and-one Pittsburgh Steelers.

eread, I love the optimism....but there is no way this team is finishing 8-8.

We'll be lucky to finish with 5 wins this year.

Let's just look for improvement each week and hope for next year's team to be coached by the same people...and also hopefully we won't lose too many players, especially Smooty.

I would LOVE to get a .500 record! However, with our schedule...it ain't lookin so hot. The offense needs to work out some quirks, actually alot of quirks. I figure a winning season for us will be...
-getting some confidence on late season wins for next year
-building on pass and rush game
-being consistent on D
-stoping the penalties
-making wise decisions in the off season

an 8-8 team making the playoffs is a possibility but you also have to think about all the teams with 4-6 records right now too. Arizona, Tampa, New Orleans, Chicago and Detroit. We have to hope all these guys go in the tank as well. Not to mention if we did finish 8-8 with a bunch of other teams being 8-8 as well we wouldn't be very lucky in the tiebreaker. As it stands now we're 0-3 in the division. I think gibbs was just trying to say that its good to look to finish strong at the end of the year to help the team for next year.

Its always good to think optimistically but a dose of reality shows we're currently tied with 5 other teams for the third pick in the draft. So don't get all excited about playoffs just yet. Take it one week at a time

8-8 would be nice! :) Man, any record better than 5-11 would be an improvement if ya think about it. Like I said before, some close losses. most by no more than 7. A loss is still a loss thoush. The Redskins need to find a way to get into the endzone dog gone it!

Well, we should face with the drew henson led cowboys and the eli lead giants, and then just san fran, so thats hopefully three wins there, Thats better then spurrier, so if that happens, it'll be a record improvement this year to get us fired up for next year. I truely believe the steelers game is a capable win, I saw a team that is starting to move the ball, stop the stupid mistakes and we can win, big ben is going to collapse one game, hopefully its this week. So why not sweep the table, its possible. If I didn't think we were going to win, I probably wouldn't suffer all game long every week.

While beating Pburg would be tough it can be done if the Skin's can put some points on the board. Who knows you win a game your not supposed to and maybe it's the start of a 6-0 finish....okay maybe 5-1 hey stranger things have happened.
