Well... I agree with the Patrick Ramsey argument and the Joe Gibbs offense. Our offense is just screwed up and disfunctional. No excuse there.

Also, I am starting to get sick of this "core Redskins" talk. Half fo them have such massive cap hits like Samuels and don't produce very well so they'll be on other teams in not too long.

I was watching the Ravens game yesterday and they have a solid team.The team was built through the draft and all but one of their first round picks is on the team since like 98. 7 are pro bowlers.We need to forget about all the free agents and use the draft for it's intended purpose. I am not. The reason we are not winning is that we do not have ENOUGH core Redskins. Who says Samuels is a core Redskin?

guys, I understand the frustration. But what do you want to do, fire Gibbs and his staff and start all over again? Franchise instability is what got us into this situation in the first place.

I still believe in Gibbs. I still believe He will turn this ship around. The problem is that everyone worked themselves into a frenzy in the offseason and set up such unattainable goals for the first year. Face it, we have SUCKED the last few years, and it is not a quick fix. Whether you see it or not, rebuilding is occuring.

Sorry about the caps...i was so angry when i wrote that, i was yelling at my computer as i was typing.....im just so disgusted with this whole operation.....the false starts, the penalties , the turnovers, the inept offense.....we look so inferior to other teams......and for the life of me i cant figure whats missing...Its sad...and for people to think this is going to turn around just like that next year...There better wake up!......Fellas were in this for long haul.....Weve made zero progress...zero!..next yaer will have just as many if not more questions...

While I agree with this post, it's the tone of the posting that's most troubling. Yes, it's frustrating to lose. But, what we have is two different types of attitudes that exist amongst the fans. Those that voice their frustration through anger, and those that choose to express confidence and faith in the system. Who's to say which is the correct attitude to have? Either one can be justified, but I myself choose to be patient and express my confidence in Joe Gibbs and his staff. That doesn't mean I'm right and anyone who chooses to be angry is wrong, or vice versa.

I am as dissapointed as anyone that we have played so poorly, but am I angry? NO WAY!! No one is more frustrated, nor trying as hard as Joe Gibbs. No, the results aren't there yet, but why would the results come so quickly? One season does not a legacy make! In many ways, the Redskins are currently like an expansion franchise. The entire team was re-tooled, as well as the coaching staff. Right now, everything is new. I'm confident that Joe Gibbs will adapt on the fly, and success will come sooner or later. Did anyone really expect a successfull season this year, or were we cautiously optimisitic? Were we expecting instant glory? I certainly wasn't. The only way to win in the long term, is by learning as we go. Joe Gibbs needs time to find out who is on the same page as he is, and needs to weed out those that aren't. Is that possible to occur in one season, let alone midway through a season? I'm not going to ramble with my usual Joe Gibbs philosophy, but if nothing else, we need to be patient. It's only been ten games so far.

There's a good article in the Post this morning by T. Boswell. These coaches are trying hard, and Joe Gibbs is still convinced he can turn this ship around. When Joe Gibbs says that, it's almost like a calm re-assurance that we need to be patient. As Bugel said, and I presume he's referring to all the naysayers "We'll forgive a lot of em, but we won't forget them. We're taking down names". He goes on to say that Joe Gibbs will right this ship. I have faith that he will, and if and when he does, I'll be right there saying I'm proud of the way I never got angry during the hard times. I always kept the faith!!

Your 95% right and you said a lot of stuff that people have been thinking but not typing for a few months. But again, I feel like you are being too harsh on Patrick Ramsey's performance. I've got three main arguments as to why I think you, and everyone else that can say anything bad about what he did yesterday... are wrong.

First you said that anyone could complete the screens and dump offs that he was. Well that's not true, because Mark Brunell was missing short targets all season long. I taped the game, and counted six--- count 'em six dropped passes. One of them went right through Rock Cartwright's hands and into the waiting arms of Ike Reese, Ramsey's only interception of the day. (Not too bad for a guy who throw's three every time he takes the field, hugh fellas???) That means if his wide out's would've caught every ball that hit their hands he would have finished the game 27-34, which would have been a season high for a Skins QB, 79%.

Secondly--- How long are we going to blame players for things coaches can help. We fired Norval Eugene in 2000 for an underachieving team. We fired Marty (after winning a Gibbs-like 8 out of 11 to finish the year) for the same reason in 2001, when we shouldn't have. Two years later Spurrier resigned weeks before he was expected to be fired. Maybe it wasn't Ramsey's fault he wasn't airing it out, think of that. Gibbs said after the the game, he "told Patrick a million times not to force anything. Just to take what they gave us." If a 3-time SB champ tells me somehting, I listen.

People on this board have been verbally bashing this guy all season for lofting the ball into coverage, and not playing smart. He does, and does so very efficiently in a game where shockingly we can't run the ball for our lifes's, and all the sudden it's his fault.

Thirdly--- How many posts am I going to hear with this, "He almost threw umpteen picks" garbage. WELL HE DIDN'T, DID HE? Again I say, we're almost 8-2 (8-points in all but two of our losses) with the Eagles, but instead we're in the cellar with Dallas at 3-7. He managed the game extrordinarliy well, and did everything Gibbs asked, scratch that, told him to do.

It is WRONG to look at it like this. The only way you should look at it is that we're 3-7 in our last 10 games. Anything before that was with Steve Spurrier and he's no longer here. It's a new Redskins organization this year! We're starting from scratch, and Joe is here for the long haul. He's committed to turning this thing around, more so now than ever! KEEP THE FAITH!!

I think both points are valid. The Redskins have spent a lot money unwisely under Snyders ownership and the money restraints are gonna start hitting the skins hard in the next few years. Players are getting paid a lot of money to fail and that is unacceptable. To be honest this season is over. The only hope we have is to avoid major coaching changes as changes are the last thing this franchise needs. No more quick fixes and start to think long term. That may mean a few more seaons like this one.

We all have friends who know how we feel about our team and are reminding us of how bad we are. They do not know how good we are!

We were 5-11 and we were lucky to be 5-11! We made a very bad mistake with a QB that we thought might be both a leader and a mentor. We did not give up too much else on quick fixes and we are not in bad shape all things considered.

I am as frustrated as anyone at how we played this week but I have too much respect for our coaching staff to put it down to bad coaching. There has to be more to it.

I think we can go 5-1 or 4-2 in these next 6 BUT I am more interested in how we finish this season as to what we can get from it for next year than what the record is.

I think a lot of us are disapointed that Joe is not having a better year but I think he's still working on this team and we need to try and be patient.

I would rather my team and our potential than what little I can tell from that NY team! We may look bad but I really think we are the 2nd best team in the NFC East!!

Now that's just IMO!!!!

I'm from England, but even I can see this from 3000 miles away!

The Redskins basically started this season as an expansion team - new offensive system, defense scheme and special teams coaches, about 30 new players!

Last year we were awful in all 3 phases - look at the positives. We've fixed the defense ranked 2nd in the league until Sunday and we're missing about 6 starters from that Unit. Have patience, one thing at a time. Give the coaches and players the chance to work together.

We're a tight little family here and enjoying the insight that a 3-7 record can give you.

However, I agree with you! We are getting better!

How good can it be? Joe is getting things back together and now we all are seeing that it's a lot bigger job than we thought.

We have been a little unlucky with some calls and some of the players have not performed to expectations but we are improving. Plus the injuries have surprised Joe. Actually I think Joe is amazed at the number of injuries and how little you can do with this NFL.

We should continue to see improvement and Joe will continue to evaluate for the long term.

What I meant is every year we blow the team up, new players, new coaches and its got us nowhere. I agree that fans, players and coaches need to accept that currently we suck, but that can only change with patience and hard work. Blowing up the team again and starting over just means we'll be doing this in 12 months time.

I hate hearing that. As a fan, I'm more interested in TODAY, winning TODAY? How come first year Jim freeking Mora is 8-2? Or Jets keep winning without Pennington? Or the Steelers with a rookie QB? Or Carolina last year with some weird named QB? Or SD?
All these teams sucked last year and are rocking (besides Carolina, I admit), and my problem is I'd wish, just wish for once, the Redskins could do something like that. When will this team step up to the plate and win?
I believe in Gibbs, but last January, I figured we'd be an Atlanta type team or at least some resemblence of a 6-4ish type record..It's always something...this year its a record of futility offense? Next year,...ohh, I'll bet the O steps up and the D falls on its face somehow. Or we'll lose Portis or something...it will be something...and the Atlanta f__ing Falcons will be winning again, or Carolina. Or Miami or SF and we'll be sitting at 4-6 or something like that.

When your worrying about a 4-6 record or a 8-2 record or whatever I'll be drinking a beer and chillin'......I just wanted you to know that as well.

I know the Danny has been on good behaviour but I believe he has to be the problem. We change coaches, players, facilities, trainers, consultants, player housing, etc. The only thing that has yet to be changed is the owner and his gang of "yes men".

Danny isn't the person on the field not executing but I believe that PART of our problem is largely due to him. Every year we have a player acting out because of his money. Every year we have a new team. Every year its something new. We have too many distractions in this franchise. We have too many hands in the cookie jar and the hands in the jar seem to be ignorant to how teams need to be run.

I think Joe is going to need a year to adjust. He's been away and hopefully next year he'll have it mostly figured out. Joe was brought up in a different way. The world today is fast paced, people want results and they want them now. I believe that Joe Gibbs is going to take his time and when he gets it right, its going to be perfect.
