draft. williams has proved without a doubt that this team can get it done without stars. i don't think we'll do too much in free agency, except find a few more role players, or as joe calls them, 'core redskins'.

I agree hailskins!

IMO the defense is about playing with an attitude and not reputation. I think this is why you see teams playing well defensively one year and not another! A new guy comes in and puts a "new" attitude into the same players and you have a good defense. The same can be said for the cowpukes in reverse. Last year they were good and added Wiley! This year bad attiude, bad defense!

Offense is more about timing! I think we will see this develop soon with PR and both the line and his receivers.

This is still a work in progress for Joe, Boss Hog and Don Breaux as well.

I am also hoping for more from the draft this year. Maybe Joe can get some more picks from trading players who do not suit his scheme. That plus (as hailskins mentions) finding some core redskins.

Joe has been very good in the past about getting the most from his people and I would look for this to happen again.

The future is on display this week in PA!

Agreed. Gibbs has also done this before. From 1981 to 1992, he went to four Super Bowls, won three, and had one of the most prolific offense in the history of the game, especially in 1983. Riggo was the only HOFer from that era.

Whose Williams? Ricky Williams?

Draft? I think we should exclusively draft young Republicans (for their debacle in Iraq).

As for the Skins, I heard that the Jaguars have chosen to to go with Leftwich next year. I think they might allow a trade for Mark Brunell. Maybe we could give up a seventh round pick for him. After all, One team's trash is another teams treasure, right?

The best definsive coach in football, and our assistant head coach- defense Gregg Williams. Who has had our defense ranked at number one since week three or four.

i am torn here. while i think we will add some guys through the draft, and i agree that we won't be major players in the FA market, but remember we have a limited window of opportunity with Joe back and i think you'll see us add a player or two that could start (maybe on the o and d lines). the reason i think that is b/c rookies rarely make a big impact on a Gibbs' team, and i think we have the talent to win right now.

we need to work out the kinks in the offense and we'll be tough to stop.

this offseason, i am much more concerned about keeping certain FAs than i am getting new ones.

Can we wait until after the season to start talking about the draft? hehe

I am just praying that the Skins don't start looking at Drew Brees. Please stay a way from this guy. He will not be worth the money it will take to get him. Miami please step up and take this guy off the market. Ramsey will florish and then they can go after a true pass rusher and an OT to replace Samuels. Sorry Jake but #60 is pretty much done in DC. He is not playing like a top flight OT and he will still want to paid like O. Pace or J. Ogden. Besides the fact that they will have to pay to keep Smooty who is actually worth any dollars he gets. The little guy plays like a giant! (Not a Giant.. the mythological kind.)

Forget Free Agents and concentrate on locking up Smoot.
I would also like to see them trade down, accumulate draft picks and load up on Offensive lineman.

Yeah, we need Smoot back! Then we DESPERATELY need a center. IMO this guy has to be acquired through free agency or trade because we need someone to start right away. We really need help everywhere on the line. Maybe, we need a new gueard or two who can start but we definately need more depth at every position along the line. We can look to the draft for these positions but getting some FAs wouldn't be a bad idea. Then we need another quality QB. I am hoping that we have one in Ramsey but we need another. I would also look at drafting a big RB and acquiring a fullback in some way.

agreed. brees sucks. he's playing for a paycheck. after he gets it, it'll be downhill from there. besides, we can't afford another FA qb after the brunell debacle.

I agree, unless Samuels wants to cut his salary in half or more, he's not worth keeping. He just isn't worth the money and he has not shown much this year. Now that Ramsey is in, we will really see if he can play and he has a few more games to prove himself. If Ramsey constantly has to look over his shoulder though, I think he's outta here.

Wow. Considering that I have no idea who would be available at this point, and that I'm not sure what our draft is gonna look like and factoring in that I really don't know whether or not we're gonna tender offers to the RFA's we have coming up and whether we're going to renegotiate C-Sam and extend Smoot...
What can I say ? What, do you want a fantasy pick list, or what ?

:? Thanks TC I thought I'd fallen asleep and missed the last seven weeks of the 04 season and the Post season. Now I realize that some of us are just getting ahead of ourselves
