i think we really have a good chance now that ramseys in at the start of the game so the play action will work and the birds cant stack the line which will open not lttle hole but i am seeing big holes and i think parker is starting at right tackle so theres my thoughts

I agree. (welcome to the board!!!) With Patrick in there, it gives our offense a better chance (now that Brunell proved he can't run this team) to be effective on offense. You have to admit though, the kid IS rusty after a long layoff, so it will be imperative for him to rely on the running game to open up his passing options.
Let's hope the game plan vs. the eagles does not start out like ours did against the Bengals (pass-pass-pass). Ramsey needs to get into a groove, and Clinton should help him thru his adjustment period.
Still, I say we win this game.

thats right rely on the run but now that we can open the field with the past it should be easy to run ya I SAID EASY TO RUN <RUN BABY RUN>

the birds are the falcons, not the eagles. but anyways your right because did you see the eagles DB get torched on MNF? if Ramsey gets in a groove, he could light up the eagles like Time Square on new years eve.

I think you are splitting hairs (or should I say feathers?).

I have a bad feeling about this one. I think it is going to get really ugly both on offense and on defense. The D is going to be challenged as ever against the Iggles. T.O. and Pinkston? Uhhh....don't look good man! We need STaylor to close line T.O. and make them take a TO (Time out) and bring the cart on the field. (...ight....that was a liitle harsh but i would love to have him shut up!)
The Offense will definitely be better than with the Old man (Brunell) but I don't think we will be able to score many times just because this is Ramsey's FIRST start.
I don't want ANYONE doggin' on Ramsey because I don't think he will have a great game!!!!! Warning yall now!!!!!

No chance whatsoever.

The only way we have a chance is we keep it close early. If the Birds jump out to an early lead we are done. Portis will have a big game if Ramsey is hitting passes every once in a while to keep their D honest. It's one of those games that could be close but could quickly get ugly.

Did you WATCH the eagles abuse the team that we couldn't beat the last 12 of 13 times lastnight?????

Thou shall never, ever count Joe Gibbs out to give you a great fight!

A slug-out. Redskins win. There are no quitters on this team.
Also: maybe it helps to have a right-handed QB, who has Samuels guarding his blind side.

Well, i think we'll probably lose too, but i don't think the cowboys are any indication. They just have our number, for whatever reason. I think the skins are a better team... but we'll still lose to the cowboys. that's just how things are right now.
I agree, though, the only way we have a chance is to keep it close early. otherwise, we'll be forced to throw too much, and force it, and then Ram will give up needless INTs. If we let portis pound it through, we've got a chance.

keep the score in the teens ...where PORTIS will be used and i believe we have a solid chance of beating the eagles.high score no way we don't have an offense that can keep up with them.

I think the Skin's have a good chance, Philly is coming off Monday night and all teams usually have trouble the next week. The Redskins also have nothing to lose and should be loose.

The big question is how will me keep Ramsey upright? Will he be able to make the eagle pay for blitzing? You know that they are going to send eight guys everytime they think hes going to pass.
If Coach puts toghter a great gameplan, if we run'em to death for the greater part of the game, then maybe we have a chance. I say the less we have to pass this game the better!

Portis 100+ yards = WIN.

Watch for a DEEP throw first play to loosen things up a little. Classic Gibbs-and it'll set the defense on it's heals, thereby opening the holes for the running game....
Just a thought

BINGO! You win a cookie.
There is a good chance we'll see the outcome of the game in the first series. If we can move the ball with short (4-5 yds) gains and keep it close we have a chance. PHilly can score with one play and if that happens and we get more than 7 behind at the half we'll loose.
Speaking of which. One of the things I remember most about Gibb's first tenure was his half time adjustments. We used to own the third quarter. I haven't seen any evidence of that this year at all. Seems like we run the same offense in the second half as we do in the first, regardless of how the game is going.

sorry guys... it's going to be ugly. i can't possibly expect ramsey to be ready for the eagles. he has hardly taken any snaps all year and he will be facing a team that is on a roll. it will take the eagles to play even worse than they did against the steelers for the skins to win this one... i just don't want to see anyone quit. that is my worse fear, that players start to quit down the stretch.

Hard to adjust when you have no passing game. Can't really say, "Now Mark. Let's go ahead and throw incomplete passes in this area of the field, as it seems to be less of a chance that they will pick off an over-thrown ball."
Once we are a complete team and hitting on atleast four cylinders, I think we will see the big adjustments being made.

i'll settle for a steady ground game.
also use COOLEY more.

I know Ramsey can throw it better than Brunell. But I hope Gibbs is patient with the run. We can live with a few three and out series if it gets Portis involved and keeps Ramsey comfortable (and not throwing any picks!).
