redskinz4ever, thanks for the link. Unbelievable, Valve had an extra year to work on it (HL2 was originally due to be released Sept. '03) and it still has major bugs?! I could understand a few minor flaws but to not even be able to complete the installation is crazy. I haven't had a chance to install my retail copy yet, maybe I should take it back and just download it from Steam.

that would be smart. also here's the address for the best game site anywhere. www.gamespot.com using that will save you alot on time and money on games that you think are good and turn out to suck. :wink:also do have an XBOX if what games do you have ????

I am the friend of a GEEK and my thoughts on the release of HL2 in its 1st seconds of release.

Image

-1. Instead of cleaning up their bachelor pads for the cute girl about to come over, instead they were doing things such as this.
Just formatted my XP drive and I'm getting it all up to date, I should have the optimum running environment.

0. Prior to midnight you could see just how lonely some of these poor geeks are as evidenced in this quote I snagged from Andy 787.
TEN MINUTES. LET'S START JACKING EACHOTHER OFF GUYS!

1. The race was on at MIDNIGHT! Image

2. It truely was a race of the geeks and a triumphant moment for them.
All games should be released like this, it makes me feel some how excited knowing that no one apart from press has played this game before. Usually it's always marred by the pirate boys but not this time.

3. Valve must have a bit of humour. Many geeks reported that the download would shoot up to 100% then back down to 80%

4. Try tossing the cinderblock on the other end of the see-saw when you're on it. =)

There's really only one problem with the Steam delivery system. There's no box to put down your pants. That's an important part of any major gaming experience.
