Ramsey, Ramsey he's our man... isn't he?

Okay, I haven't been able to post for a while because I do not have regular internet access... but here I am.
As you guys know I don't have the built in trsut of Gibbs that comes from witnessing 3 SB seasons (I'm only 20).
So maybe someone with a blind trust in Joe Gibbs could tell me why Mark Brunell is the starting quarterback of the Redskins.
Does this make a shred of sense?
In 2002 we had Ramsey, Wuerffell and Matthews... Ramsey showed he was better than those guys... He's smarter, throws better, was tougher...
In 2003 he got a chance to play more and did better than before but was sidelined with a serious medical problem that has since been taken care of.
Ramsey is tough as nails, has a cannon for an arm, reminds me a lot of Brett Favre... why isn't he starting?!?! Brunell is a noodle armed, immobile quarterback who has the know how but not the skill to do well in the NFL.
Why why is Mark still starting?!?!?! Get #8 out of there!!!

this is what we've been agonizing about every day! unfortunately, none of us has an answer either.
if we know that brunell is abominable, why not see how ramsey can do? clearly brunell won't/shouldn't be starting here next year, so do we need to draft/trade for a new QB? how can we know unless ramsey is given a shot to prove himself?
my only guess is that ramsey must just look terrible in practice, as he did (unfortunately) in the preseason. but that's understandable, since spurrier a) brainwashed him into a wrong way of thinking about the QB position and b) got the hell beaten out of him, making him a bit anxious back there perhaps.
but does this mean that he will never recover and be a good QB? i hardly think so. i think he just needs a shot to play it out of his system and get back into the groove. i agree 100% that ramsey has indicated that he has the talent to be a great QB.

He´s definetly our man, Ramsey must be in there but I have to think Gibbs doesn´t like Ramsey at all, Gibbs said Brunell gives us the best chance to win well let´s see 6 for 17 and 58 yards so I guess those are great numbers for Gibbs.
Again no more than 18 points, etc....... Gibbs where is Ramsey.

I am also beginning to believe that Coach Gibbs made a promise to Brunell before he came here that he would be the starter. Although publicly they said that there would be an open competition, I don't think that it really ever was that way.
Unfortunately, Ramsey during the preseason did nothing to put pressure on Gibbs to have to start him. Clearly Brunell is the weak link in our offense at this point. We will not be able to beat good teams scoring less than 21 points a game offensively and under 200 yards passing.

Maybe Gibbs will try Ramsey next week. He called only 17 passes for Brunnell...that suggests he doesn't want B. throwing. Remember, Joe Gibbs comes here as the architect of Air Coryell. When he puts away the pass, as he did today, it says something that his offical statements don't.
It might also be that Gibbs has seen plenty of Ramsey, and does not think Ramsey can handle an NFL defense. Having a strong arm and being tough doesn't mean that Ramsey can see the hole in a fast-moving defense, and can then hit a receiver. That's not even a matter of being smart: it is football smart, play-smart. It means "thinking" faster than the game. Good QB's do that. Bad ones don't, even if they have strong arms.
We don't know what Gibbs sees in Ramsey. We're fans, hoping for the best, cheering for our team. He's the coach who watches film until 4am every day.

Danny Weurfel, Shane Matthews, Tim Hasselbeck, Sage Rosenfels, Gus Frerotte, Todd Husak, Gibran Hamdan. PICK ONE, any of these guys would be better than Brunell at this stage in his career.

Did you watch preseason....?
Gibbs gave Ramsey his shot then... Gibbs won't change QB midstream.... but if Brunell gets hurt (I am not wishing that, poor taste) that is the only time Ramsey will see the field....
chalk this year up.... when they make changes next year... it will be on that pathetic line.... Corey Ramer must go... And I hope we can get something for Samuels.... he isn't all that either....(soft like jello)
Ramsey, Ramsey..

Again I agree with you. With all the off season time and scouting, the offensive line is pathetic at best. When we play a good team you will see what I mean.

Chico- Gibbs won't change QB's midstream?!
That seems to be a disservice to the coach, IMO.
Is it your contention that he's so stubborn that he won't admit his mistake and put the right man for the job in at quarterback? Are you saying that we're tanking the season for a draft pick by not playing the best players on the roster?
