We
haven't reached the mid way point of our season though it's week 8 we've played 7 Joe Gibbs coached teams come on strong towards the end and that's what I'm hoping for

Not only will be right back in it but we'll be on a roll and momentum matters in this league

This team is not playing too poorly, but we've been very very unlucky. I think that will continue so I said we were "toast". Hey, more than winning...I'm just looking for the team to improve each week so we can carry something positive to next year.

yes. i'm one of the only 2 votes so far for "yes". 2-5 is too hard to recover from. there are a lot of teams ahead of us for a wild card. we can only afford to lose one, maybe 2 more games, before the playoffs are completly out of reach. i just don't see us running the table from here on out. not saying we should just give up, but its not looking good.
of course if a miracle does present itself, i'll glady have seconds of crow......

....and I'd gladly feed it to you, Hellhog. I was the first "No" vote.
I'm telling the NYG fans here in New York that we're looking at an 11-5 record, and that their team is gonna choke.
What can I say ? I'm an optimist.

Hell no it aint over...look at our conference!! If our o will just perform a little we will be fine. I wish Coach Gibbs would give baby face Ramsey a shot cuz he can play and it would force teams to remove the safety from the box.

Glad I'm not alone I've been saying 10-6 or at least better than the Jags

There's still time left. 9 games that I think we have the talent to win. If we can just get on season changing play or win, like the interception in the cardinals game by lavar that turned that whole season around a few years back and brought to 8-8, against the Lions and our refs at home give us a break, we could possibly make the playoffs still. I have faith.

I would say after we play these two, its over, cause the rest of our opponents have what you call............ a Defense.

If the Giants can have the record that they do after 7 games, then there isn't any reason that we can't make a "miraculous" comeback. you can argue that if the refs hadn't given us bad breaks that we'd be 4-3 right now. We're not, but that doesn't mean that we can't come back from 2-5--anything is possible (even breaks going our way!)
I don't talk about "next season" for 9 freaking months just to give up after 7 weeks. What kind of a life is that?

We have been in EVERY game so far and should have won at least 3 more games. I say everything starts to come together and we go on a long winning run!!!

It never crossed my mind to go to the superbowl. This season was one of rebuilding in my mind from the get-go. I didn't expect to lose the games in the fashion that we have or lose them at all for that manner.
I thoroughly believe that all of our young guys should be playing this year, especially now. Let this season be a pre-season for us and lets evaluate all of our talent. I dont understand why teams dont do that. Swallow your pride and lets prepare ourselves to be the best we can be for next season.

YES THE SEASON'S is over !!! 2-5 TO DEEP OF A HOLE TO DIG OUT OF !!!
our "D" keeps us in games but our BRUNELL ran offense just plain sucks !!!
our running game has improved ...but when we are playing catch-up the whole game PORTIS is not getting the carries.

On the one hand, through seven weeks in Gibbs' first go-round (1981), we were 2-5, and that team just missed the playoffs (finished 8-8 ).
On the other hand, we are 2-5 with two games left against Philadelphia. Thanks to the four divisions, a 9-7 record probably won't land us a playoff spot. The last 9-7 team to make the playoffs in the NFC was the Bucs in 2001, way back in the three division days.
We are toast. Put in Ramsey.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the Dolphins were 10-6 last year and did NOT make the playoffs. . . .

The season is over as far as the playoffs are concerned. We would need to win at least 8 of our last 9 games to make it and with two games against the budgies, one against the vikes and one against the steelers, I can't see it.
I'm forever an optimist though, and you never know with a Gibbs team, but even if we don't make it, there is still much to achieve that we can take out of the year.
And a win against the budgies and girls would certainly go some way to saving the season!
