I know everyone wants to see Ramsey in there. I badly want him in there. But will he be any better? He can't move like Brunell and i doubt he'll be able to make split second decisions that it will take in this offense... I'm scared. what if Ramsey doesnt work out? What then? This honeymoon with Gibbs is quickly unraveling and it may not turn around at all for a few years if Ramsey isn't a savior.

I don't know if Ramsey is the answer or not but it is painfully clear that Brunell ain't so we need to find out where we stand at the postion. No reason to wait until the offseason. Gibbs knows something we don't that's why Mark is still in there. I don't know if it's the line or Gibbs fear of Ramsey decision making or a combanation of the two but it's not Brunell's play that's keeping Pat off the field

i am never going to say this or think like this again, but in the 2005 Draft... QB Matt Lienart...

I dont know if Ramsey is the answer either, but lets see. I can see us playing some inspired football with him under the helm.

It will be worst with Ramsy it's not Brunell it's the O-Line..
The Packers were giving up a whopping 6.9 yards a play!! Why couldn't our oline get Portis going
The Packers had 10 sacks coming into this game and got 4 would've match it if Ramsey was in there..why couldn't or o-line protect??

Ramsey was the QB when we beat the Patriots last season. He only played 1 year. He needs some playing time if he wants to develop. Hopefully Brunell gets injured soon, so Redskins fans can see what Pat can do.
Even though Boooooooooonell is off, he made some key plays in the second half. We would have won this game today, if it weren't for that stupid onside kick and that frikkin sweedish kicker who missed the fieldgoal. Also that so called "motion" penalty, a mistery, cost us the game. So it was not entirely Brunell's fault this time.
Im still confused about that "motion" penalty.....
President John F. Kerry, everyone.

On how close the offense is to 'clicking':
"Close is when you really start operating. Today we scored three touchdowns against a really good team, so there was some good things in there, but I think we're still obviously hurting ourselves. It's not easy, but we'll have to find a way to get it done."
I'll tell how to get it done...PUT IN RAMSEY!!!

I don't think Ramsey could have done any worse so far this year than Brunell. I think he could have won 2 games for us and gaining valuable playing time which would pay dividends in the future; like next year or the year after since that is the longest the nuecleus of this team will be together do to the salary cap!!!

I dunno how well Ramsey will do (3 interceptions in the Giants game within 10 minutes)
Lets just get a new QB, maybe Tim Cootch, lol

DEHog... what game were you watching?? the O-line played average but this is all on Brunell... the o-line is playing well enough to give the QB some time to throw... Brunell missed 3 passes to open WR's when the defensive brought 7 guys... it's all on Brunell... that first drive, when he missed jacobs in the middle, was HORRIBLE!!!! This is 10% the O-line 90% Brunell... NO ONE RESPECTS HIS NOODLE ARM!!!!

Ramsey came into that Giants game trying to make something happen. I'd be confodent in him with a full weeks work taking the majority of snaps at practice. You have to admit it is time to make the move.

you really are correct... great post...
the qb is really responsible for 3rd down conversion... and we seriously suck at 3rd down conversion... brunell flat out missed open receivers...
and every defense doesnt respect brunell... GB was starting two rookies in the secondary... and they had the nerve to have the corners play us in man coverage right on the line of scrimmage all day...
Brunell is a JOKE.... Flat out JOKE....
i will take Ramsey's turnovers... b/c he can at least stretch defenses and give us a shot to win some games...

One of the interceptions is because of Coles braking off a route and another one a reciever fell down after the ball was released. It was one game and we were behind. He felt he had to make that comeback. Remember all the 300 passing games last year. Not everyone has great games all the time. Brady looked like crap today. After last years performence he deserved to start and this poor record is only two people's fault Brunell and Gibbs. Gibbs for starting Brunell and Brunell for sucking so much.

Patrick Ramsey has a few problems that are keeping him out of the lineup
1. He has "happy feet" doesn't setup before he throws because of the beating he took under SOS
2. He throws multiple interceptions and we can't afford the turnovers
3. He calls a lot of audibles and that causes the clock to run down
4. He is learning a new system

These are the reasons that Ramsey is on the bench
With all of these issuse why do we want to replace Brunell
1

2. He throws multiple interceptions and we can't afford the turnovers
3. He calls a lot of audibles and that causes the clock to run down
4. He is learning a new systemPLUS
5. He has no arm.. (Ramsey has a rifle)
6. The water boy is his favorite reciever (Ramsey has been on the sidelines for 7 weeks he's been getting his own water)
7. This is his first year with these recievers (Ramsey played with all of them last year)
8. We all know how bad he really is (We have yet to see Ramsey play a FULL game)

Why isn't Patrick in the lineup

I will say it again and again, when Ramsey is in the game atleast we can get into field goal range.

It seems everyone ignores the toughness and growth Ramsey showed last year. Everyone seems to only remember 3 INTS against the Giants. If you remember he led that team in the 4th QTR. He brought the team down field and Gardner dropped an easy TD pass that hit him in the numbers in the end zone, the next play Ramsey threw an INT trying to force a ball and make a play. He was leading the team down the field again at the end and Coles dropped a pass on the numbers on 4th down to prolong the drive. The best this offense has looked all year was when Ramsey played one quarter, without any practice with the first team. Ramsey can't play any worse then Brunell, the future is now and a change needs to be made.

I think Gibbs is in the predicament of picking his poison when it comes to our QB situation. Our O-line needs to improve.

Our O-line needs to improve.
:celebrate: samuels is not worth the $$$ he is up for next year.(7 mil + 2 mil in signing bonus) raymer has not played well. so, what the hell is up with bugel?

Underacheivers man, What do we do with them? Greenbay was stunting alot, but no excuses for what they get paid.

When a QB such as Brunell who is making a ton of money can't lead a receiver like the play across the middle and the ball was behind I belive Coles? Then bench him. It was a simple pass that ended up behind the receiver and almost easily picked off if it was not for the defender being off balance. Gardner threw a better pass to Portis! His long ball was atleast down field and leading the receiver even though Portis didn't catch it.
IT'S PRETTY BAD WHEN YOUR WR IS THROWING BETTER THEN YOU ARE!
Ramsey or Hasselbech I really don't care but if what you have is not working (and I'm sure Gibbs has made several adjustments for Brunell) then change is needed. Brunell is simply not getting the job done. for whatever reason it's not getting done. O-line, WR, RB...you can bring every excuse to the table but simply put all the other teams know to stack the line and pressure the QB because if they can stop the run then they stop the SKINS.
Perhaps Ramsey will create a spark...or atleast get the ball down field or scrable better then Brunell but change is needed. Every one of Brunells thrown balls either sailed high, hit the dirt, went to the water boy, or definitly wobbled! Gardners pass was atleast sharp, crisp, and had the distance and he is a WR. that's a shame!

i agree. i haven't been high on samuels for a couple years now. with the loot he is pulling in, portis should be able to run behind him as a bulldozer, but it aint happening. samuels is looking pretty mediocre if you ask me. he's not even protecting the blind side anymore, but still isn't all that.
at least he made a comment about it. he said the line has got to play better, regardless of the qb. admiting it is the first step to recovery.

TMQB is with you:
Worst Blocks No. 2
The Washington Redskins have one of the league's worst offensive lines, so something went badly normal as they surrendered five sacks on Monday Night Football. Redskins coaches entered the game expecting a terrible line performance since they had Mark Brunell sprinting backward so far he must have been carrying a passport in case he left the country. Third-and-1 in the second quarter, Brunell sprints far backward, pass incomplete. Third-and-3 in the third quarter, Brunell sprints far backward, passes for just 2 yards and it's a long throw to get it back to the line. Fourth-and-1 in the third quarter, Brunell sprints far backward, pass incomplete. Brunell was rolling out and sprinting far backward regularly, yet still got sacked five times.
Worst among Redskins blockers was the extremely overpaid tackle Chris Samuels. Dallas leading 7-0 in the second quarter, the Redskins face second-and-7. All extremely overpaid tackle Chris Samuels has to do is "chip" -- he doesn't even have a man, merely is supposed to help with another man. What Samuels does is brush La'Roi Glover, then stands watching as Glover sacks Mark Brunell. Samuels couldn't be bothered to produce even half a block! A few snaps later, as Clinton Portis ran, TMQ spied Samuels doing absolutely nothing -- just standing up at the snap and then looking around, not even going through the pretense of giving effort. TMQ counted half a dozen plays on which Samuels was standing, doing nothing, while the quarterback or runner madly tried to evade the Dallas defense.

Portis is a beast when it comes to pass blocking. He really brings heat to keep the Qbs pants clean.

I really like him, though sometimes he says some stupid stuff. most of his comments are very insightful and right on. Ever since I've read that, I've witnessed it first hand. I think its frustration on Samuels part. We are never winning so I can't test my theory.
