Does Pete Rose belong in the Hall of Fame? I for one say yes he belongs in the Hall of Hame.He is the hit king and no one doubts his accomplshments on the feild. The gambling issue always comes up. He did gamble on his team as a coach which is horrible Imagine if a skins coach betted on or even worse against his own team? Ahh the horror. But still it is called the hall of Fame not the Hall of Integrity.

I voted yes, Gambling has nothing to do with what he did on the field

What he did for baseball merits entry in the the Hall of Fame, in my opinion. I don't like his off-field conduct; however, Michael (pass me that crack pipe) Irvin will likely be getting into the NFL Hall of Fame on his first try, right?

This is just one example of what's wrong with Major League Baseball. The all time hits leader not in the HOF? Give me a break.

mlb players can beat their wives without so much a flinch from the league officials, but you gamble on baseball and you're public enemy number one. silly.

I've gone back and forth on this, but I've come to the conclusion that on the field play is all that should count for HOF entry. He is an idiot in the way he went about the aftermath of his actions. But he was a hell of a player.

Baseball has ONE rule posted in every clubhouse. Pete Rose chose to ignore this rule -- Banishment from the game for eternity is the only sentence fitting the crime.
The integrity of the game itself is more important than the integrity of the HOF. If they ever allow Rose in the Hall, I, for one, will never spend another dollar on MLB.
I'm just amazed that so many people here discount honor and integrity.
