No big surprise on the firing. I also don't think they would have fired him without a viable replacement in place. Whether or not it will be Spurrier remains to be seen. Obviously the Gators will want him back, but the question is whether SOS wants to go back to UF specifically or if he's even ready to be a coach again at all. Let me say, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

Really not a surprise at all. The fans hated him as soon as he arrived at the Swamp. I believe there used to be a site dedicated to hating Zook.

I just read in the Washington Post that Spurrier will be talking to them about the job. He'll end up back in Florda where he belongs.

Yeah, it's definitely Spurrier. During the whole press conference, Florida's AD kept dodging Spurrier questions one after another. It would be a disappointment to them to not bring him back.
I liked him and hope he does well, even though he screwed up our team.

SOS and the AD have had weekly talks since Steve left Washington. The "GatorNation" wants him back, and I think he wants to be back in Gainesville, so it'll happen in a matter of time if not they'll try to get Stoops or Nuehisal (sp)

I kinda liked not having to see him on the tube. But he can take his coach 'em up, chuck and duck or pitch and catch, whatever he chooses to call it back to Florida.....my bet is he won't succeed against legit college powerhouses
