Pass Rusher Still A Need

Despite our D-Line's success, we could still use a pass rusher aside from our LB's . Now, I dont remember Jason Gildon, Joe Johnson, and Calvin Pace getting picked up by anybody. The bye week would be a great time to bring in one of these guys and we could probably get em cheap. Just a thought...

You're right, we still need help at D-line. Our d-line doesn't get much pressure on their own.
Im not knocking them because last year they were getting knocked backwards, this year they're holding their ground.
Once we get the line to a point where they can get pressure without blitzing we'll have an unstoppable defense.

Joe Johnson has major character issues. Not a bad idea though, I fully agree a pass rushing end would be awesome.

Wow we're the # 2 ranked defense in the league and you want to bring another guy in?
I think most of our worries are on the passing game.

We do need a pass rusha. Dam, the eagles have Kearse. How'd they get Kearse?? That's just plain unfair...
We use a bunch of LB's and some safeties to rush the pass, like Taylor and Arrington, but yeah, we really need a guy dedicated to the pass rush. That would be awesome.

We have one of the top defenses, before we get that we need rb, Qb (unless Gibbs sees the light on Ramsey, but I think he will trade him), a center, and possibly another reciever ( I am not saying its definite because Brunell is so bad), Our offense needs a lot of work.

It would be a shame to lose Ramsey. I saw something in him. He has a spark. However, Joe Gibbs seems to get impatient when he sees all those interceptions thrown. I think that's one thing he can't stand, interceptions. Ramsey needs to take a deep breath and relax. He's too nerveous. I think Gibbs likes Brunell because he is so comfortable in the pocket. If he just threw the ball straighter he'd be ok. We could've had another TD in the Bears game if he threw it on target. I think we need a black QB. They seem to be more chilled out.

Oh yeah man i would love a passrusher in there.I would love to see Courtney Brown from the Browns along side Lavar since they did play college ball together. Just a thought unlikely but would be nice.Eventually I hope our Defense bocomes a scoring defense.Get points off some turnovers then we will really be in buisness.

this is what i've been saying since day one of being on this site. we need more pass rush from our front four !!!
yes i'm happy with our "D" but think how much better it would be with a stud D.E. !!!

We still need one for turnover purposes, look at teams with good Passrushers, we are ahead on stats. I consider ourselves somewhat like New England on defense only.

still a little early to get much from these stats. Miami, Buffalo and Tampa are all in the top 10!

I agree with the basis of this thread and would also like to see someone on the line who can pressure the passer, BUT I also do not think that they are going to do any more about this until next year.
I have the feeling that we have what we are going to see on the field this year. They seem to be trying to get more people involved with an idea that seems to be we will make up for skill with fresh players and greater depth.
I have the feeling that they will make this group as good as it can be, give it some great game planning and next year add some more pieces.

Bringing Courtney Brown here is a bad idea. He's done nothing but spending time on the IR. Now if you want some pass rush, bring in Jason Taylor or (Orange) Julius Peppers.

Calvin Pace was never cut. If he was, he would have been picked up a long time ago.
Joe Johnson is old and injured.
Gildon is an overweight, aging linebacker.
Not much out there to choose from. As far as I'm concerned, if our defense keeps playing like this, then there's no need to sign anyone else.

I think any and all attention should be given to our offense and making sure our injuries heal up. We should be pleased with our D and not ruin any chemistry by bringing in questionable mid-season pick ups, IMO.

Totally agree with Jake. Our D has dominated. There is absolutely no reason to bring in a defensive guy. Why screw around with what works?
BTW...Snyder doesn't need any more encouragement to bring in another bigname free agent! So keep it down.

I dont believe that we should pick up anyone right now. Especially if they fit the bill of our past splurges.
Lets let this team be a team and fight this thing out. It'll build them up as a team and nobody will feel replaced or insignificant.
We can address line issues in the draft.
YOUNG, CHEAP, TALENT!

What about my boy Isaac Hilton. He was a projected 3rd round pick but they said he had "character issues". Got drafted by the G-Men in round 7 but never made the team. I'm pretty sure he's available and we could get him EXTREMELY cheap. Hes a physical freak, I think he put up a 4.58 forty time at the combine along with 30 BENCH REPS! This guy has potential to be a premier pass rusher if given the opportunity

I think he was signed and released by Tampa's practice squad. If he can't make it on NY or TB's practice squad, then I don't think he has a chance with us.

To be honest you guys have not played any high powered offenses. No Minnesota, Eagles, or Colts.

Whoever steps on the field we will shut them down.

I am dead-set against making any new aquisitions for that side of the ball right now. Gregg has what he needs. We don't have the luxury of giving up Ramsey or anyone else to serve a squad that is absolutely fine as is.
