We keep getting in these three up three down positions and although our D is doing a fantastic job do you think that this can continue for the year? Do you think that we will get worn down?
our ofense needs to stay out there longer in order that we may stay healthy, but if for some chance they can't make that happen is our D conditioned enough to make it through the whole season being out there twice as long as the other team?

The first thing Greg Williams did was bring in a stout conditioning program. You saw it in every game except for the 4th QTR of the Ravens game.

We have great depth on our defense. We have tons of D-lineman switching in and out, and we have multiple safties on different packages. As soon as Arrington and Barrow come back, can you imagine anything our LB core can't do??? They are constantly fresh, and I think that has to do with a lot of our ability to have a top 5 defense.

I honestly think that this defense could, if need be, play for 45 minutes, if the offense would only play for 15 minutes. They seem to be in good shape, the question is injuries. Of course, I would like to see the offense click and start having some long, clock consuming drives that give us more than 3 points, to give the defense a bit of a break in the game, but until then, I think the defense has shown already that they are capable of playing at a fairly high level for the majority of the game.

Yeah, they can...because as of right now, a good half of the projected starting D is out.
They'll be fresh when they come back at mid- season.

I think that they'll make it through the rest of the year in part because our offense is starting to show some signs of improvement. I don't think that we could simply dominate the way the Ravens did in their Superbowl year. However, we won't need to as long as Gibbs' philosophy sinks into its groove and starts to really function--even if it takes until week 10 to do so.

actually, the skins have had the higher possession % 4 out of 6 games.

week 1 Time Of Pos. 27:13 32:47 skins
week 2 Time Of Pos. 30:05 29:55 skins
week 3 Time Of Pos. 24:51 35:09 skins
week 4 Time Of Pos. 29:56 30:04 browns
week 5 Time Of Pos. 32:05 27:55 ravens
week 6 Time Of Pos. 34:01 25:59 skins

That's 189 minutes and 56 seconds for us and 170 and 4 seconds for the opposition.

As you can see, we've done pretty well for how inept the offense has been. I really don't see the defense wearing down at all, except from frustration as seen in the end of the ravens game when Jamal got all his yards...

If we can keep the holes opening up for Clinton, and Mark can make a few more throws a game, I like our chances.
