what do you guys think our biggest needs are in the offseason? I know we need some help on the D line. Should we be drafting a QB as well??? what do you think?

Why don't we wait until the season is over to see what we need?

We need to play Ramsey now, so we can find out if we need to acquire another QB.

I don't think we need too much in the way of starters. Possibly a Center. I think that's our weak spot. Once PRam gets going, I think we'll be pretty good at the 1 and 2 spots. Hass being 2. I'd like to see us grab a RB as well, to learn and backup Portis. WRs are ok, might pick up another guy if Gardner wants to move.

On defense we need better depth at DB. Our glaring weakness is our DLine. We need a good DE. We haven't had one for awhile, and I miss Mann and Manley. Our current group is doing ok, but much of our success is due to Gregg Williams. He could do even more with a better 4 man rush.

d-line isn't that bad

i can't understand why people say we need help on the defensive line. True we don't have a pass rushing DE but i don't think williams needs one. The group we have now is designed to stop the run, which they've done a great job of.

Right now I would argue that the defensive line is doing the best job of all the redskins spots. Linebackers a close second. But we're ranked towards the top of the league in stopping the run. We keep our opponents in long yardage situations on 2nd and 3rd down. That allows williams to go blitz crazy knowing that the qb will have to wait a few seconds for the receivers to get downfield

Heck, we even shut down jamal lewis, the league's best RB for three quarters (the fourth doesn't count cause u can't blame the d for being tired in that game)

And in watching the games, in situations where we don't blitz, I feel that the line is getting a good rush on the qb's.

We need to spend all our time fixing the offense, leave our defense alone, its already playing at a playoff level.

I know we seem to be good on the D line. However this upcomming draft is shaping up to be one of the best DE drafts in a long time with the likes of David Pollock, Dan cody, and perhaps Mathias Kawalenka. We also need a center yes, but centers are not usually takne in the first round so its posible to get a very good one in the second round. All the main cogs on offense are there. Other than a great Pass rushing End( which would mean another line backer to drop into coverage or even more pressure on the opposing quarterback) I can only see cornerback being important. That all depends on if smoot etc is resigned.

O-LINE --- WIDE RECEIVER --- DEFENSIVE END ----Q.B. not in that order.

Do whatever it takes to keep Gregg Williams the man is a genious...it doesnt matter how much talent he has (or lack thereof) he gets his guys to play thier guts out for him

lol, my post was sorta jumbled...

here's my draft

1-DE
2-Center
3-DL
4-CB
5-RB
6-OL

Of course this could be altered depending on Gardner and Smoot. I don't see Smoot leaving though. Gardner probably won't either. I think all these guys see the light at the end of the tunnel, even at 2-4.

As well as our defense is playing, I still see them as the main priority in the offseason. Gregg Williams is a large reason for our success, and we need to do everything possible to hold onto him. I hope he's like Ray Rhodes, and doesn't like what comes with being a head coach. I like Cornelious and Warner gets pressure at times. A top DE thrown into the mix will do wonders for our 4 man pass rush though.

When Ramsey gets going, Jansen comes back, and everyone gets to know the offense like the back of their hand, I see the current group being very very good. Center is definitely our weak spot, and should be addressed early though.

We need d-lineman. Williams is keeping it together with smoke and mirrors. D-lineman have to be rotated to be effective. We need some young guns A DT, DE and a QB.
We can't keep getting by with other teams castoffs.

We need to keep the ENTIRE COACHING STAFF!!!! 1st and foremost.

2nd. We need to keep the KEY players! Not the most expensive or with the biggest names.

Off the top of my head:
Smoot
D-line
O-line

Areas we need to address.

We need a stud DT, and/or DE. Why? We can't blitz on every play. Teams like STL wil stretch our D and make us cover a lot of men. We need good pressure from JUST our front four? If they can get pressure it'll make our safety, and LB blitzes even more spectacular.

We need to pick the NFL draft APART!!!
