Wow, your in the ALCS, you're supposed to have a top 5 pitcking staff to go along with a top 5 batting order and you had 19, let me repeat that....19 runs scored against you, not to mention the Yankees are 1 game away from breaking out the brooms! Now that's embarassing!
Once again we own the Red Sox, Schilling, our son Pedro and the rest of your pitching staff have been crushed!

No, I'm just pointing out some facts!

To who? The countless numbers of Red Sox faithful on here? Exactly how many are there?
The Yankees are the best, no doubt. The best team money can buy.

There is at least one Red Sox fan, joebagofdonuts. And there are those of us who are sick of hearing about the yankees. LOL

There's more than 1 Sox fan here, but alot of Yankee haters.
If you have a problem with teams "buying" talent, then you must hate the Redskins, LOL. The only difference is the Yankees win! If/when the Skins win eveyone will say the same thing. All I can say is "it ain't my fault"!

For me, I'm gonna sit back and hope I don't jinx my Yankees.
The Red Sox responded in a big way the last time we blew them out of the water.
It ain't over 'til it's over, unless you're the Mets.

Agreed. But isn't it fun to watch Williams and Matsui?

Matsui is awesome. I don't like the Yankees. A friend of mine's father passed away a week ago - and he was a huge Yankee fan, first line in his obit. All his daughters and sons-in-laws, all the grandkids... equally huge Yankee fans.
My bro's a Sox fan, so I pull for them. Ortiz came through big-time! I didn't see that Manny Ortez do anything though:0)

See, I'm a real fart smeller, ain't I ?
The Red Sox win two in a row in extra innings.
Now, it's back to the Bronx. Kevin Brown v. Curt Schilling.
I can't wait.
(Oh, yes I can !!)

Man, two late games in a row... they've gotta be draggin today. I'm ready for a little nap myself :0). K Brown has struggled, Schilling in a boot... this is going to be a gut check for both teams. I think the Red Sox have a few more players on the bench. I'd play Pokie at second and start Kapler in the outfield again. They can play Mancievich (sp) at first and move David Oritz to DH. Fresher is better - if they've got talent.

i think pokie must still be hurting. what other possible reason would there be to keep bellhorn in the lineup. the guy is a strikeout machine.

as far as being embarrassed, i can't say that i am embarrassed by how the red sox have played. schilling was hurt. pedro only gave up three runs (hardly evidence of someone being his 'daddy'). bronson arroyo is....well, bronson arroyo. if schilling is back to his old form tonight, the yanks are in for a fight.
and i'd rather root for a team with the heart and class of the red sox than.....any other team ( i was going to make a remark about the yankees here, but i have too much respect for tcwest and ant to get into an argument on the subject)

Thanks, Joe...because right now, you're beating the hell out of the "Curse".
Good luck, man.
The only guy I can't stand on your team is Ortiz. He's evil-looking, and he damn near tore off Sturtze's ear in that Rodriguez-Varitek thing.
One of us is gonna have to go beat the Cards.

it's funny to see how the opposition feels about your own players. everyone in red sox nation thinks ortiz is just the nicest guy. i guess sturtze wouldn't agree.
i was waiting for the 'curse' to rear it's ugly head last night, to no avail. maybe the yankees are depending too much on it to save them...?
as far as the cards, they'll have to pull a couple of miracles themselves to make it to the big dance.

The "curse" isn't beating the Yankees, it's winning the World Series, they've made it to the WS a few times, they just haven't won it since 1918!

That being said, I don't think the 'curse' will truly be over unless the Sox go through Yankee Stadium to win the world series.

Agreed.
Now Damon decides to start hitting. A Grand Salami and another two run homer at his next at bat.
Frickin' caveman.

Simply amazing. They've done it! I will root for them in the World Series. History has still yet to be made.. I believe.

Great series! The Sox are the better team for 1 year. Now they have to get through the "Curse of the Bambino"! Torre made the HUGE mistake of putting Vasquez in, Loaiza should of came in after Brown.

For 1 year?? That sounds bitter Ant. They are the better team should be good enough. I am not a Red Sox fan, but I hope they win the WS too. And with Ortiz on that team they may be right there with your Yankees next year too.

"Bitter"???? No, not at all, they are the better team this year. They have a shot to be the better team next year too, but you can't change the past.
With or without Ortiz they'll be "right their", they have a solid team! Our payroll will probably hit $300,000,000 this off-season.

That was one of the greatest 7 game series I've ever seen. It was so intense, so gutty...it's tough to fault either team or any player. It was a superhuman effort by the Red Sox to take two in New York. Curt Schilling was probably the most courageous effort in the history of the game.
