P-Ram

This guy is getting himself killed. I mean the line is blocking there asses off and he want throw it away, never!! They showed a shot down field and Coles is wide open and P-Ram is hit, he had plenty of time to throw the "GD" ball down there. He sits there. Hasselback comes in and throw 2 sweet completions with two blitzes coming. WTF

I have to say that I noticed P-Ram's youth a little more again Sunday too. I agree that he is now hesitating back there and no longer seems so cocksure and ready.

Who can blame him?

... it's called post-traumatic concussion syndrome I think.

I totally agree BossHog. How can we expect Ramsey to take a beating over and over and not start to protect himself as opposed to getting the ball off. The poor guy cannot continue to feel the blitz and be expected to not let his game suffer. I don't think the blame should fall on his shoulders at all here.

I agree....he has been holding onto the ball too long and needs to make quicker decisions and get rid of it.

You cant blame Patrick but you can ask him to scan both sides of the field before the play starts to get a read of the defense. The Flee Flicker sack was all Patrick. The guy came straight up the middle and Patrick just looked like he had the deer in the headlights syndrome. You have to throw the ball away. I dont know if Rob Johnson who is known for holding on to the ball way too long rubbed off on him but he has to a better job of reading the blitz.

Yeah, I agree. He is taking to much punishment. I remember the first sack and SOS asked him if he was O.K. and P-Ram look him in the eyes (playing it off) and said yeah I'm O.K.

The guy is hurting and he has lost confidence, it is very evident.

Who to blame?? From what I saw yesterday I will have to blame P-Pam. If you know they are going to blitz you have two or three options you make the completion, you throw it away or you throw to the hot route receiver.

Yeah we can blame it on the system and you can blame it on the Midget but it is up to the players to make the plays and P-Ram to me just seemed zoned.I mean the O-line looked good, the Defense also looked good, no passes dropped, punt and kick off returns looked OK. That leaves one person.

When a blitz is coming, there is someone open or a mismatch, why aren't we hitting the open receiver???????

His biggest problem is that he's just not stepping up and making the throws like at the beginning of the season.

Well actually, his biggest problem is that he has been shellacked getting to this point. I don't blame him at all for this lack of confidence. And as was painfully pointed out by the announcing crew, where are the g'damned linemen to pick Patrick up off the carpet? Ramsey's selling his soul, whether he's making plays or not, and I for one am shocked by the o-line's recent treatment of him.

I think it's shame. They're still not doing a good job, I don't know what everyone's talking about. I watched Samuels just WATCH people run past him twice, unabated to Ramsey, and he picked up nobody on either play. Tackles pride themselves on the number of sacks yielded in a season... not in a quarter. No pro bowl tackle should EVER have that happen.

I don't even think it's that Chris has lost any ability, he, like everyone else, just doesn't seem to have a clue what's going on out there. They play like a team that is thinking on every play, and in the NFL, there's too much of a need to just react, to be thinking. I don't know if that's the system itself, or the coaches inability to effectively teach it to the players. And it's everyone out there.

Even in high school, we studied the other team enough to recognize certain plays but for the most part, the game was all about just knowing what to do in whatever situation.

We don't seem to know what to do in any situation -- offensively or defensively -- and week after week. Just like last year... every team gets better and better as the season rolls on.... we don't.

Yeah. Man, I just dont know. I was watching ESPN and I forgot the guys name but he had an interview with Hue Jackson and Hue stated that Spurrier is not willing to modify his system. He also stated he is the coach. SO......

How 'bout the commentators noticing yesterday that even our offensive lineman had stopped helping P-Ram scrape himself off the ground....no o-lineman to lend a hand to get their QB off the ground? wtf? I thought he and JJ were supposed to be best buds?

I definitely am not saying that the O-Line is doing a good job. Nobody on the team is deserving of a pat on the back. Patrick needs to read blitzes better but the line is awful too. You can tolerate a 2nd year player being creamed every week to be a little confused in the pocket but our candy ass O-line has no excuses. I know that I have no respect for SS's ability to motivate his players. During the bye week a team that respects their coach would rally to shut all the critics up about SS not being able to coach in the NFL. I just dont know what else to say. Why doesnt SS get in the faces of the players when they screw up (ie: Zellner, Pierce)? Throw a visor, turn red...do freakin something. I cant remember when I have been this frustrated. I hate Collinsworth and he loves to rag on the Skins but he was right when he stated that a high school D-Line can get to the QB with our overrated candy ass line.(not his exact words but you get the point).

Actually, I would stand up for the Oline on this one - they blocked who they were assigned to. Not ONE sack was a defensive lineman. Every single sack was from one or two of the extra guys brought on a blitz. This time, most of the pressure came from the linebackers and safeties. Even pressures from the outside of the DL were fairly well contained by Jansen and Samuels. I would jump on them this time if not. I didn't pull any punches in my article did I?

B Johnson is a Damn Ram, why isn't he in on plays? We never keep anyone back there with P-Ram. Maybe once.

Because Snyder... ooops... I mean Spurrier sends all of everything out to catch a pass not worrying if PRam doesn't have time or can stay up on his feet.

(And yes - I meant that for everyone blaming this stupid system on the owner)

He/We/Me love what SOS did with his College teams. I do still think that he will adjust. Sometimes we need a bad Automobile Accident for a stop light to go up.

I bet right snow D Snyder is laying in the bed with a pair of slacks, black socks and a wife beater shirt on saying to himself, who would laugh at me if I fired SOS, how would I tell him and who would coach such a talented team @ mid season??? :P

I say let Spurrier go... let him get us a damn good draft choice and then fire his butt.

I tried to back Spurrier, but when the man won't learn, when Edwards won't learn, I can't back them.

Hey skincity... wonder if everyone will be mad at Snyder for firing Spurrier if we are 4-12 with this talent level. My money is on yes.

True - but the Snyderhaters would say that DS was being oppressive, egotistical and jumping the gun. He can't win with them either way

He can't win with them either way

not exactly true. snyder needs to surrender control, and hire a "capable" staff, and then win a few, at that point, all will be forgoten....

Ok - what has he done this year? Spent money bringing players in for Spurrier, increased the talent level hugely, fired a couple of loser players who haven't and won't really make much of a splash any place else in the league.

No... HS - he is letting Spurrier do his thing. And this is my whole point - if he fires Spurrier and hires a new staff he will be "micromanaging" in SOME people's eyes. He hasn't done much besides sit in the box and grind his teeth but he is "egotistical, maniacal, evil" according to folks on here.
Do you think that if he fires the coaches and brings more in here that people won't accuse him of the same thing?

i just think we need a GM. and a solid winning season would be a cure-all, and would silence the critics.
