.......old enough to remember back to Joe Gibb's first season as Redskin coach, the Skins started out 0-5. Well, here we sit in Joe Gibb's first season back at the helm of the Skins and we are 1-4. Kind of similar huh? Those Skins back then got pummeled in their first five games. Things looked very bleak for Gibbs. He was an unknown at the time. Would Jack Kent Cooke put up with this much longer everybody thought. Then came week six of the season. Guess who the Skins were playing? You guessed it, the Chicago Bears in Chicago. What happened? The Redskins beat the Bears that day, and the rest is history. The Skins finished that season 8-8, and went on to win the Super Bowl the very next season. Anybody beleive in lightning striking twice? I do. I look for the Skins to get their second victory this weekend. If we finish up as strong as that Redskin team did in 1981, look out! A playoff spot is still possible. It's time for the Skins to break out of this thing!

I felt that as far as this season was concerned the Ravens game was crucial - but as far as the future is concerned it starts with Chicago. It really is time for all of us fans, players, coaches, owner to pull together now. There is a lot riding on it.

That's a strange coincidence that the Skins were playing Chicago in Gibb's 6th game, in his first year.

This is a big game with the bye next week. We gotta get some momentum going.
