What's this about Jamal?

Talk about the Washington Football Team here. Do you bleed burgundy and gold?

What's this about Jamal?

He's not appealling his suspension, but he's not suspended for tomorrow night's game? Do all players get to choose when they serve their suspensions, or did I just hear incorrectly?

Welcome to the Boards ....No you heard correctly and it does seemlike he's calling the shots.... He can do this because he has 5 days to appeal so that gets him into Sundays game

Right, but doesn't it make sense that he'd have to appeal to get himself into Sunday's game.

Not that I'm concerned, but anything to give _our_ offense a better chance of scoring more than our opponent, is a good thing.

That would make sense for us because we're Skins fans but if he sat for this game and then appealed Tuesday (the 5th day) how would he get that game back?
We'll be OK weather he plays or not. We just have to go out and get the job done

Telling everybody when he's taking his suspension is nothing. How would you like to be able to tell the judge when you are willing to spend your time behind bars? That is what I find absolutely crazy.

"umm judge, it's golf season, so I'll be back this winter to serve my time. Thanks."

It's called a plea bargin. I don't see a problem with allowing a man to make a living.

What's the difference?

You have GOT to be kidding me, right? Do you think any judge would treat you or me like that after admiting guilt to being involved in drug trafficing? NO FREAKIN' WAY!!!

I'm sure Jamal wouldn't be able to deal with missing the season. He doesn't make much and probably hasn't been saving up though. You're right! Let the guilty man earn more $$ than God, sell drugs, and tell the world to F- off....that he's running the show!

Look, if you were involved in a big drug incident in which your testimony would put several more people in jail, I bet they would allow you to serve your sentence when you weren't working, IF it meant they could secure your testimony.

The question is not whether or not he could "deal" with missing the season. The question is, what is the difference? Let's face it, the only reason you care when he serves his sentence is because he plays football. Four months is four months. His time in jail isn't going to be any shorter in the offseason...
