I didn't see this info anywhere here...
sorry if this has been posted... but i like the way this sounds...
Fox Radio is reporting that the Ravens have been informed that Jamal Lewis will be suspended for two games and will be fined four week's pay. The decision is expected to be announced on Friday morning. Should Lewis try to appeal the decision, he would almost certainly be available to play on Sunday. If not, the suspension would begin immediately, and Lewis would miss this Sunday's game against Washington and the next game against Buffalo.

Multiple Ravens sources told FOXSports.com that they were told the penalty for Lewis' involvement in a federal drug case will be a two-game suspension as well as an additional two-week fine. Head coach Brian Billick tried to prepare his players Thursday morning by informing them that Lewis will be suspended.
The only holdup on the final decision is from NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue, who needs to sign off on the punishment and could choose to alter the penalty Friday morning by making it a four-game suspension.
The NFL had no comment.
Lewis' salary for this year is $2.434 million and thus will lose out on $143,175 per week for a total of $572,700.
If Tagliabue follows through on the two games plus two weeks fine, then Lewis will have a chance to appeal. Even in the case of an appeal, the NFL will look to get the entire escapade over shortly as they do not want this ugly incident to continue on throughout the year.
There is also a chance that Lewis and the Ravens could decide to have the suspension enforced immediately, which would mean he'd miss Sunday's game vs. the Redskins and then the team's next game, following their bye, against the Bills. Normally the league doesn't suspend a player after a Tuesday because it does not allow a team to properly prepare for a Sunday game. However, if the commissioner hands down his decision Friday and Lewis immediately says he will not appeal, then he would be suspended for Sunday's game vs. Washington.
If Lewis appeals and loses during the bye then he would miss the Bills game and the Ravens' next game against the Eagles. It is unclear what the team's strategy will be.
