Yankees Kick the Twins When They're Up

The ballpark shook with roars, the kind Alex Rodriguez had never heard as a Yankee. His deep drive to the center-field warning track had hopped over the fence, and Rodriguez waved his hand in a circular motion, a hopeful signal for a home run.
Patience. Rodriguez's hit was only a ground-rule double, but it was good enough to tie the score in the bottom of the 12th inning at Yankee Stadium last night. Soon enough, the Yankees would complete their comeback.
Hideki Matsui's line-drive sacrifice fly scored Derek Jeter with the winning run in a stirring 7-6 victory over the Minnesota Twins in Game 2 of their American League division series. The best-of-five series is tied, 1-1, with Game 3 scheduled for tomorrow in Minnesota.
The memories of Game 2 will not soon fade. It was enough to captivate even the senior Yankee, center fielder Bernie Williams. "This team in the postseason - there's something about this team that never ceases to amaze me," he said.

That was a heck of a game. I couldn't believe that throw by Jaques Jones. I don't really care who wins, but I wanted to see a great play at home. Nothing better than a collision at home plate deciding the game.

Yeah, that was a terrible throw! It would've been close at the plate if he threw it further, but it dropped lined up with the pitchers mound and they had to relay it. Does he have a bad arm or was it a bad throw?????

From what I heard this morning, they said it was such a low line drive, that once he caught it, he didn't think he had time to set up and make a good throw so he just chucked it.
For what it's worth, I would have rather seen Posada barrelling down the line for that possible collision.

Funny you should mention #20. He almost cost us that game, and I was expecting him to make up for it with his bat. Nothin' doin'.
He'd better get back to form, or Joe's gonna have to look at Flaherty.
If that's sacrilegious, hey. I just want to win.

if i'm a yankee, i might be a bit concerned. blanked in the first game, had to mount a comeback in the second to avoid a loss, and now moving on to minnesota.
i know the yankess, and if any team can pull it off, they can. pisses me off too.

Why ? Who would you rather see ? Yankees-Red Sox or Red Sox-Twins ? Give me a break.
There's unfinished business there. The Red Sox have held up their end of the bargain by wiping the floor with the Halo's. Now, the Yankees have to do the same. It's 7-1 NYY, right now. So far, so good.
