Browns | Clemons Signed to Practice Squad - from www.KFFL.com

The Cleveland Browns have signed LB Chris Clemons to their practice squad.

Of course they signed him a few days before they face the Skins. They're going to use him for all of the knowledge he has of our defense.

Yeah...but will it help them get back their injured players?

No and it won't help them win, either.

You guys are funny. He was on IR in 2003. That means he never played in Greg Williams defense anyway! Come on guys let's use some common sense.

Well he was on the team as was/is his brother. Nic Clemons is on our practice squad is he not?? Makes him an insider in my book.

Oh...so since he was hurt he never glanced at the playbook? Yeah, if the teams thinks like this one, we will win for sure

Apparently you think Clemons has memorized a playbook he never saw! He was on IR with the Skins in 2003, Greg William's defense came in 2004., you do the math.

Whatever. I'm happy to see at least one of 'em make a roster.
We can't keep 'em all, can we ?

Uhhh... he was here until August of this year. As soon as a new coach develops a playbook, the players get it.

Given that Clemons was cut in August, how did he play in the preseason without memorizing a few plays?

And why else would they sign him a few days before their matchup with the Skins? Because of unfamiliarity with the opponent and the need to gain an edge.

Riddle me this!

I stand corrected. I did not know he was with the team this year. You would have to conceed though that there is no way he knows that playbook inside and out. There are guys on the team now who probably don't know the whole thing.

I'm sure he knows more about Williams playbook and his style of defense better than the rest of the guys on the team.

Dunedi-You are remiss in your fundementals. The Redskins hire only the most outstanding of athletes, in mind, body, and morals. ALL players know ALL the plays on both sides of the ball, of course.
This is not the Browns, you seem to be lost.
Dunedin, as in Florida Dunedin? Go figure....
lol

As in! I'm not buying it. These guys, even though they play for the Redskins, still play in the NFL. That means they no very little and spend an awful lot.:D

I just hope our guys on D, perform. I am tired of giving up the big play.

You really need to know that it doesn't matter one way or the other. There are miles and miles of tape of Williams' defenses archived.
There won't be any real surprises on Sunday. Somebody wrote to me here in another thread, "Knowing the plays and stopping them are two different things."
Perfect summary.

I thought there was no news outside of Ohio ....even in cyberspace.

Maybe Clemens broke his eyes when he went on the IR so he couldn't look at the playbook.
