Gibbs/Parcells hand shake, if you can call it that.

Did anyone get a glimpse of the Gibbs/Parcells hand shake after the game? They didn't even look at each other in the eye, and in fact, I think Gibbs turned his head. I wonder if the two of them despise each other.

Is it just me, or did that response go WAY off topic?

I saw the hand shake. It was a nice "no-look" handshake by Gibbs. Not a happy fella.

BP said something to Gibbs during the handshake, but I doubt Gibbs heard it. He stuck his hand out and headed in the other direction at the same time, so I don't even think he knew Bill was talking

Yeah, looks as if ol' Gibby acted like a chicken and lacked A LOT of class on that half-azz hand shake in the middle of the field. Maybe he was too busy wondering how bad he managed the clock and his timeouts.

I agree that we have a lot to be hopeful about the next few years ahead of us, as Skins fans, but what's with this defeatist attitude with some of you? The fact is the Skins were JOBBED by the refs. The score should have been 25-14, or somewhere close to that. Those two blown calls decided the game. I'm pissed - and so should the rest of you.

Im going to be hated on these boards real quick because of how Im starting to feel. Forreal Im tired of hearing about next year, I've heard that for the past 14 years. Lets execute now! I can't believe we lost that game. We are the better team. Forget the refs, we should have had that game so well in hand that those bad calls wouldn't have mattered!

Kris Lava Lava: You guys aren't good enough to overcome the refs. That showed. And how many years in a row have you guys been supposively better than the Cowboys? Paper champions don't count. The better team with the better coach won the game in a hostile environment. Sure the refs botched a couple of penalties, but they botched more against the Cowboys. Let's go back an take a look, shall we? First, how about that delay of game that was never called on the Skins? And that was right after the ref missed that call on Terence Newman against Gardner. So we're evened up. Okay, how bout that mysterious false start on Flozell Adams when the replay with Madden narrating clearly showed nobody moved. How about that ticky tack roughing the passer on Marcellus Wiley? That was bogus. How about on the last play where Gardner was tugging at Jacques Reeves's jersey before he pushed off to seperate and catch the ball? Ya see, it goes both ways. The better team won.

lol, keep dreaming your little dream pokey. The calls your talking about didn't affect the score. The call made against us, gave you 7 points, and the mobbing against our WR that didn't get called, cost us 7 points. That would be a 14 point swing. Yes, that means the refs WON the game for you because you couldn't have done it on your own. Where's all the talk of move the ball at will and such. Even with the refs, you won by 3. Lmao. Gibbs is in his 3rd game, and you were dominated except on the scoreboard. Once again, because of the refs. After another 4 or 5 weeks, you will never be heard from again on this board, so go ahead and talk it up while you can...

Your day is coming, and there is nothing you, your owner, your players OR your coach can do about it. There's a very good reason why Jones wanted Gibbs to coach the Cowboys. And it aint cause he's a loser. It's cause he's one of the best coaches that EVER coached the game. His 2nd term will cement him as the greatest coach that ever lived baby!!!!!!!

You are kidding right? "Tikcy tack roughing the passer"?

Go home little boy, the adults want to have a conversation about football.

Back to the original thread, I've always respected Gibbs, thought that he was the classiest coach in the league and did things the "right" way.

That changed a lot last night(this morning? whatever). At least be a man and look someone in the eye when you shake his hand. Rather bush league and I would have expected more from him.

Curveball - I understand what you are saying and you make a good point but I am sure JG felt 10 times worse than I did and lets just say the cops were called to my house because my neighbors thought that I was beating my girlfriend up instead of my remote control and furniture. So I am sure he just wanted to get the heck out of the stadium. Not making excuses because I would have expected more out of JG but after all he is human. So let just leave it at that.

The way he looked over, it seemed like someone called for his attention. I don't think Parcells was offended, and you shouldn't be either. You were on the field, you don't know what happend.

Amen to that. The score would have been 21-14 Redskins.

Come on!

Joe Gibbs IS the classiest coach in football. We really do not know the true facts of the situation when you have a wholo lot of fans, security guards, players and journaliss talking to you at the end of a game.

I ambewildered by the fact that -anybody- makes something out of an uninformed perception. If Joe had not wanted to shake his opponents hand, he would not have walked to it in the first place.

My goodness fellows! This is really a silly way to scrutinise the behaviour of our coach. Leave it to D. fans to make whatever they want to make of it.

Joe knows that he had a situation to face in the locker-room and I do not blame him at all for paying more attention to more important stuff.

Just drop it!

I missed the handshake. Anybody got either a picture or a still video capture of it? That would be grade A material for "Caption Time".

I saw the handshake, no big deal. I do think that cowboy fans should be limited to the smack forum. Why do they even come to this board, just to talk trash. I'm sure there are some that enjoy that sort of thing but they belong in smack.

I wonder if the two of them despise each other.

I saw the handshake. Gibbs and Parcells are not friends, never have been, but there has never been animosity. They are very different personalities. Competed for the NFC East year after year, face-to-face games twice a year.

That was the same sort of handshake as always.

Gibbs doesn't accept losing. For all his exterior softness, Gibbs is like steel on the inside. He hates losing.

*

But for animosity, roll the tape back to games between Gibbs and Buddy Ryan or Jerry Glanville.

i disagree with this. i saw the handshake. i saw joe look parcells in the eye, extend his hand, say something, shake his hand, and turn away. the whole thing was quick, but i KNOW that gibbs looked him in the eye. don't let the haters tell you otherwise. they can't express themsleves properly, so it comes out in the form of hostility. probably a shortcoming for some other deficiency.....

well gibbs is better than me...i would've walked straight up to parcells and told him that my hand isn't the hand he should be shaking. there's a field ref that's deserves all the gratitude you can give...go shake his hand, cause he's earned at least that much from you

Scottskums: Are you wishing upon a star when saying Gibby's 2nd term will cement him as the greatest coach that ever lived? Hell, maybe you could take your predictions and go live it up for a weekend in Vegas. Gibby was a good coach before free agency. Back when you could buy a player and keep him. That is how dynasties were born. A la Cowboys! This is a new era. And with Danny Boy Snyder running the show, Gibby will merely be another average coach. Hell, does Gibby even coach the team? Because all night long I saw Gibby asking Don Breaux and Gregg Williams all kinds of stuff? Are you sure he is not in over his head? Because he sure doesn't look very confident on the sidelines unless he is having a pow wow with his assistant head coach. Maybe he just needs to be coached up by Don and Gregg and spoon fed information.

K19: Yep I would say that picture says volumes. A pretty classless act to half-azz extend your hand and then turn around and walk away. If the coach is going to act classless while representing his team, then what does that say about Washington organization as a whole? Pretty piss poor! Guess Gibby can't lose like a man.
