A few of my thoughts...

1- Brunell is not the QB that Gibbs had hoped. The only thing he has going for him right now is his maturity. But, his fundamentals and his accuracy are among the worst in the league. I'm just a fan, but I don't see him lasting very long.

2- Sean Taylor will be a superstar, but not yet. I say in two to three years. Right now he's getting a brutal dose of reality, while showing flashes of brilliance.

3- Clinton Portis needs time to adjust to Gibbs' system.

4- Gardner really isn't that bad. It's clear that Gibbs wants him to be the main receiver in this offense.

5- Gibbs' is going to need two to three years to right this ship. Anyone that thought this ship could be righted immediately is/was fooling themself. 8-8 will be a positive for this team. Any visions of 11-5 should be put to rest, and hope for the future. The win against Tampa Bay gave us a false sense of optimism.

6- Brunell will be lucky to last eight games. He'll either be injured, or replaced. In any event, I think he may end up a salary cap casualty before the beginning of next season.

7- Joe Gibbs really does know what he's doing. In a recent interview, he indicated that he was trying to "build a good football team. This means that he doesn't have all the players he wants, yet. He has players from Spurriers days, and not all of them fit into Gibbs' system. Over the next two years, he'll weed out the bad and put in the good.

8- Our O-line is struggling without Jansen. We need help.

9- Don't ever underestimate 41 year old QB's.

10- Trash talk is the worst thing a player or a fan could possibly do.

11- The talent is there. The intelligence isn't.

Very insightful JPF - I totally agree.
We also now know that we are better than 2 teams in our division and we have a lot of work to do to get to the next level.

Was terrible... problems at the end of both halves changed the game. Very dissapointing.

Oh....Gardner must listen to SportsTalk radio. I wonder are they doulbing up on LC?

I agree with most of what you said, but I actually thought Brunell had a good game. He started connecting those long passes later in the game. Coles dropped a few passes at the beginning. Overall I was pleased with Brunell. He threw no picks. He had 2 TDs. He made some nice passes.

Brunell didn't throw good balls though, Rod made excellent grabs. Not one of those long balls was on stride. If they were, we'd be celebrating a win right now. And Rod and to a smaller part Thrash were the only reason Brunells stats looked semi-good. It's time for PRam to get in there and get comfortable.

Fortunatly we aren't seeing the same mistakes repeated

He needs to wait on the linemen when they are pulling, moreso an the counters than the traps

He took a beating on this site last week can't blame him this week though (10 catches over 150 yards...really don't remember a drop )

I don't think it'll take JG that long, I think he's the team headed in the right direction now. Never visioned 11-5 (I said 10-6 ) but 8-8 I think we can still do better than that if we get settled at QB. I stick with my 10-6 for now( may have to beat Illy twice). I'm actually optimistic after this game( Portis let the holds develope more than he has the past few games, Gardner showed why he was drafted no.1 and we played 60 mins. even after the bad calls we kept fighting)

Don't ever underestimate a 3rd string RB on a option (R Anderson)

Brunells throws were horrid. I almost thought he was Donovan Mcnabb with those ankle passes of his. He's going to get our receivers killed if he keeps hanging them out to dry.

Yeah, I saw LC and that did not look good. THe man is in a new system, but his base sucks right now. I did like the way he steped up and hit Gardner. If we lose to Cleveland we will be pissed?

I don't think I can agree with you and your thoughts on Brunell, I think once he got it going in the second half he looked good. 2 TD's no interceptions, great deep paasses to Gardner. On the second Gardner touchdown the move he made to evade the defender was great then he delievered a strike. I wouldn't be so critical of Brunell.

At the end of the game when brunell starting connecting, was dallas in a prevent D? I can't recall.

Perhaps towards the very end, but they were rushing the passer for most of the 4th quarter.

One instance that stands out off the top of my head is where Brunell bootlegged right and really only had time to get the pass off because a Dallas D-lineman fell down in his persuit.

I don't think so. Maybe on the very last play. Brunell and Gardner should of had three TDs if it wasn't for the pass interference that wasn't called against Newman. The refs allowed the Cowboys to win this. It's true.

Brunell played just fine. All Gibbs needs is a quarterback that doesn't make mistakes, not a Peyton Manning (although that would be nice). Brunell never really looks comfortable, and he's a bit gun shy from taking too many hits over the years. But, that last touchdown pass showed that he's a veteran who can play smart. Given how lousy he and Ramsey had looked, I was happy to see him play as well as he did last night. As long as he doesn't get hurt, he should keep improving as he continues to settle in with the offensive scheme.

brunell played a solid game !! no turnovers ...on most of his throws his arm looked lively ... the ham string didn't seem to bother him in the least.
so everyone who says it time to put RAMSEY in your telling me he could make every throw that brunell made LOL !! ramsey on a roll out ??? ramsey moving to the right eluding a blitzer and throwning that bullet of a pass to hands of stone GARDNER ( NICE GAME HE HAD !!!) all i'm saying is BRUNELL finally looks like he can put a few scoring drives together.now if he continues to have on and off games then start questioning if he should be the starter. tneh youre boy RAMSEY can play .
