I thought you guys were confident with Ramsey under center? Everyone was going against my idea that Brunell IS the better man and all of you were denyin' it. Now that Brunell is going to be playin' everyone is relieved that we ACTUALLY will have a chance to win!

This is ridiculous. The real truth comes IN when Ramsey goes OUT.

i'm not relieved. brunell "watched a lot of film"? woohoo. ramsey took the reps during practice the entire week, until today. no one that that was supporting ramsey in your other thread has even responded in the one posted in that link, but i'm sure you'll continue to see things your way when they fit your ideas.

I'm not relieved either. I would rather have a healthy Ramsey than a hobbled Brunell under center. I think Ramsey would play well after taking all the snaps this week. I also think he would do better if you didn't ask him to pass on every down. It's kind of hard not even being the starter (actually demoted from starter) and expected to throw on every down to get down the field when the defense knows that's what you are trying to do.

It's not like Brunell has been lighting it up the 2 games he played in.

So "no," I'm not relieved. I'll just accept it

I'm not relieved either. Brunell has no arm, and has consistently thrown behind receivers this year, rather than hitting them in stride. Yes, he makes fewer mistakes than Patrick, but Patrick hasn't started a game (when the pressure to perform immediately hasn't been on him). I think we can all agree that Patrick hasn't performed well under high pressure situations (last week's game, the QB competition), but when he has the confidence of knowing he is the club's unquestioned starter, he has produced nothing but results. I would like Joe to name him the starter, and stick with it.

So starting on Monday night against the Cowboys wouldn't be as you say "high pressure" if that's the case...I'm happy Brunell healed quickly!

It's high pressure, but not the same as coming into a game off the bench where we are behind, and having to produce immediately. When the score is 0-0 the QB can get into a rhythym, and not try to force everything downfield.

I am going to support the starter no matter who it is. I think Brunell took his lumps but played better than Ramsey. His scrambling ability is really good, too.

I am happy no matter who is in there but Brunell played better so of course everyone is going to be more excited. I'm not changing my stance at all besides the fact I thought Brunell wasn't going to play.

No doubt Brunell was moving the team when he got hurt...I believe we would have won had Brunell not got hurt. Brunell has been doing this for a long time, just like the Bucs game when he fumbled, he came right back down the field. With our D emerging all we need our QB to do is take care of the ball, points will come

Thanks DEHog, this is exactly what i think. I don't understand how difficult this is to understand. Jake, I like your reasoning also. The main point is: We need a QB who will NOT create turnovers and can more-or-less move the team down the field. If Brunell was in the game, we should've AND would've won it for sure. Guaranteed. He would not dissapoint us with throwing interception after interception. neither would hasselbeck...but i don't want to start that agruement again.

if Brunell is doing bad, you know Gibbs will put Ramsey at least at halftime so... i would be relieved however, we aint got Lavar.

I am not. Brunell is the type of Qb that is too old can't hack it anymore. He will get worse throughout the season. After the Bucs and Giants game anyone that knows football can see why the Jaguars let him go. I would rather start Ramsey. One of the interceptions weren't his fault, he did look like crap, but the offense also looked like crap, not just Ramsey and Brunell. Excepr Cooley and Rasby, they were good.

I agree John...Brunell is smart, but he still can't get the job done. It was stated earlier in this thread that wwe would have for sure won it if Brunell was in there. Are you kidding me? It was also stated about turning the ball over....if I'm not mistaken, Brunell turned it over 2 times all by his lonesome. Put Ramsey in and let him learn. We will have the better team in the long run.

I, for one, don't claim to know more about football than our coaching staff. Brunell is the starter and Ramsey is the backup. If Brunell is healthy enough to start, he will start. He will not lose his job due to injury. Both are capable of starting and winning in this league. Neither of them can win by themselves.

If our big guys up front don't punch their guy in the mouth and dictate the tempo of the game, it doesn't matter who the QB is. If the WR's don't catch the ball, it doesn't matter who threw it to them. If Portis fumbles...I won't go there, with his track record, I don't think that will be an issue.

My point is that we are lucky to have two capable starters. Everyone has their personal favorite, but to say we don't have a chance to win with 'the other guy' is a very 'glass half empty' kind of attitude to have. My 2 cents

I'm not in the least relieved. I wanted Ramsey to start. Has anyone ever considered that during that game it was set for a left handed QB. There could possibly be a difference as far as plays practiced, and all that right?? Left versus right handed has to matter somewhat. So if they practiced and prepared the offense for Patrick then I think it would turn out much better then his time in the Giants game.
I think all the definitely Ramsey, definitely Brunnell stuff is to throw of the Dallas coaching staff. So I am not going to be surprised no matter who steps on that field! Even Gibran......................oh wait scratch that.

After watching the colts packers game yesterday, I am jealous that we don't have any solid quarterbacks. The last two weeks and in preseason our quarterbacks blow. Tonight is suppose to rain, so I would actually rather have ramsey in there, since we'll probably run the ball 50 times. Brunell fumbles the snap to much.

Doro way to have confidence in your team. Our QB's suck after 2 games?? That doesn't sound like you are giving them much of a chance at all. Not to mention PRam was thrown into the fire last week. I think before you can say anything on his ability wait until he's had practice and reps with the starters.
If you don't like that idea maybe we could put in anyone who gives him a hard time? Then they'd understand what it feel like to be under that kind of pressure.

How long have those two quarterbacks been in those two systems, respectively? Do you think that game would've been as good as it was yesterday if those quarterbacks had each just started a new system?

Give it time and enjoy the ride along the way!

I know the skins will win because its going to be pouring out tonight and it'll come down to defense and the running game, which we should dominate. That is good for us. Because I see QB as our weak position on the team. Neither brunell or ramsey have yet to look good back there. I hope they prove me wrong. Plus i'm having game day jitters. Probably cause I can't start drinking till 3:00:)
