Lavar Out 2-4 Weeks?

I think I just heard on Sportstalk 980 that Lavar will have his problematic knee scoped, and will be out 2-4 weeks. I certainly hope this is not true.
They played a clip of Joe Gibbs talking about a "problematic flap" in his knee intense swelling. Again, I hope this ain't true.

ESPNews is reporting he's out for Monday night, but they didn't give any details.

ASHBURN, Va. -- Washington Redskins linebacker LaVar Arrington will likely miss Monday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys after a flare-up of a knee injury.

Yeah, they just mentioned it again on 980.
Yikes! My one-time deepest desire (for him not to play for us -- NOT to get injured) came true at a pretty bad time. I was hoping he'd give Vinny an Aikman-esque greeting.

Arrington's likely replacement is Lemar Marshall, a third-year player who has never started an NFL game and has been used mostly on special teams. However, Gibbs said there's a chance Barrow could return and start in Arrington's spot.
Time to rally around Marshall and get our money's worth outta Barrow.

An article on ESPN or the WP stated that Barrow said things are looking to good, as far as him trying to play.
I may have to change my forecast about Witten not being heavily involved Next Week.
But the game still should be competitive and some good coaching should be on display...

Barrow will be to slow for Lavars spot. man, this happened at the worst time. first off we are on National TV so he could have given us a name, and second we are playing the COWBOYS.

You know, I was actually just about to post a thread with my two predictions for Monday:
1. Lavar would end Vinny's career just like he ended Troy's (always thought it was unlikely, kind of a joke, but now it certainly isn't happening -- still it isn't cool to be wishing this on any player even if he is a Cowboy)
2. Sean Taylor's gonna break out. Vinny throws a lot of ints, Julius Jones is out so he's gonna be throwing the ball even more, and it's his first chance to shine on a national stage. I still think this is reasonably likely to occur.
I don't think it's going to be a huge setback. Obviously, LA's an amazing player but Gregg Williams has shown how well he can rotate players in and out. He'll be able to figure this one out.

Nonetheless, this is a huge blow to the Redskins defense. A solid but not spectacular D-line is already hurt by the loss of Daniels, forcing Williams to rely even more on the linebackers.
The offense (I'm looiking at you Clinton) needs to step up their game and manage the clock. Fortunately, the Cowboys do not have what we might call a prolific offense but Parcells senses weakness like a shark smells blood.

No kidding...just one more to add to it. 101 now.
Replacement

If his replacement plays a disciplined game covering his lane, everything will be fine.
Lavar has had a tendency to over-pursue in past seasons (not this one) but his relacement will play according to Williams book.

It's a 16 game season, and one person does not a team make. It just means that the mistakes have to be fewer, and the team has to continue what it's been doing on defense. Yes, it's a tough loss, but it's not an excuse for us to lose.

Losing Marcus Washington would be more costly considering he's outplayed LaVar from day one.

If Barrow ends up playing I hope they put him at MIKE and Pierce at weakside because playing Barrow at the weakside will be a mistake...and if Barrow is not ready Lemar Marshall will just have to step up and cover that weakside backer position...

if barrow plays, he plays Mike. That's a given. Especially considering how versatile Pierce is. Whatever happens, we'll be fine. Just won't have those one or two spectacular Lavar plays a game while he's out.

Don't worry folks. When something like this happens, I look for the rest of the defense to rally around the loss and take their games up a notch. I, actually, really feel sorry for the Cowpukes now!!!

This has been the most injury prone season ever. Everybody's getting hurt it seems. I'm still faithful, that Pierce can make some plays for the defense, this is the time for him to really bite down and step up. Don't forget, we still have Marcus Washington, another pretty good linebacker as well.
