Just read where Lavar has been fined by the league for the hit on Tiki Barber. The hit that looked like a face mask but wasn't called. Ridiculous, yeah it was a face mask, but fine the guy, c'mon.

I think it must be a rumor. Wouldn't it have turned up in the News section?

Also there is nothing on NFL.com, ESPN.com, or Washingtonpost.com.

So he gets a fine because the ref didn't throw a flag? :hmm: I've never heard of being fined for grabbing a face mask on a play.... sounds like bs to me... they got away with one also that game when Ramsey was getting sacked, the first guy tried to pull him down by his face mask and they missed that call....

I'm assuming that there is some kind of appeals process that he could go through for this, right? You can't fine players for things like that--it's bad enough they fine you just for hitting receivers crossing over the middle. . .

Oh C'mon. He only had one finger on the facemask, the other three were on the shoulder pad. And the refs spent the rest of the game making up for the blown call by hitting us with penalties at inopportune times (Samuels' penalty on Portis' rushing TD, and Portis' taunting penalty for spiking the ball) and non-calls on the G-spots (the Coles hold that led to Ramsey's 2nd INT, and the blatant facemask of Ramsey). That is just too much BS. I hope he appeals the fine.

It's what's called a cheat shot...LaVar not a stranger to that...

No, it's what's called a "tackle." I'm guessing that you're calling it a "cheap shot" only because Barber was injured on the play, and Lavar did something that's against the rules on that same play.

The Redskins as a team were punnished enough within the rest of the game (the make-up calls that had real impacts on the game itself); and this fine comes as bizarre considering usually the NFL doesn't take little things like this off-field.

Do you mean "cheap shot"? At any rate, it was incidental, and would not have even been of the personal foul variety, unlike the non-call on the face mask the Giant's D-line got away with on Ramsey.

Yet another 'boys fan who clearly didn't watch the game on which he is commenting.

So, what's your excuse for the ignorant post.

(Note, I said the post was ignorant, not that he was ignorant. That's how I meant it, and I hope that is within the rules.)

My point is that LaVar is not innocent of cheap shots...maybe this one was more questionable, but his past shows otherwise...of course I still hate the Bastid because my favorite player of all time is Troy Aikman...if you know the hit...you know why I would say that about LaVar....

If you saw the first Redskins game, you would know that Troy himself doesn't consider it a cheap shot. He has let it go, maybe you should to?

I don't know why...it's plain to see the hit was not only unnecessary, but helmet to helmet...

Again, if Aikman has no problem with it, why should you?

Dude don't be ridiculous, Lavar was making a tackle, he grabbed the face mask because he was reaching out for something to grab a hold of on Tiki and that's just what he happen to grab... A cheap shot would be if he hit Tiki out of bounds, after the play, punched him, etc... You can't have a cheap shot on a guy with the ball still in play....

And what Lavar did to Aikman wasn't a cheap shot either, Aikman wouldn't be saying it was the hardest hit that he ever took, if he thought it was a "cheap shot"... Why would he reward a guy who cheap shotted him by saying that?

In fact, I can't remember any times he's been flagged or fined in the past for a "cheap shot".... this "past that shows otherwise" doesn't hold up, unless you could name me some other moments....

If we got fined for turnovers "the Daniel" might have to file for chapter 13.

Even if they called the facemask it wouldn't have even been of the 15yrd. variety. His hand slipped down and grabbed the inside of the shoulderpad.

Do you think the Postons will pay it for him????

Chapter 13 being personal bankruptcy, I doubt it would come to that. It would be the Redskins organization filing Chapter 7 or 11. :P

Yeah, there's a reason the refs didn't catch it, because it wasn't serious at all. He was going for the shoulder pads and his hand caught the side of the face mask for a split second before sliding off. That's why I'm saying Tiki is such a little girl tweaking his hip flexor. That's a joke! If he did, I would say it was because of the tackle, not the facemask. His helmet didn't even twist around or anything. The commentators even mentioned that had it been seen it most likely would not have been the 15yd personal foul sort of facemask. It completely blows my mind that he has been fined for this. If anyone should be fined how about the refs? At least, they should be accountable for all the other terrible plays in the game. That taunting call was rediculous. What, you can't spike the ball anymore? It's not like Torry Holt spinning the ball in the guys face and pointing at him.
